Sorry guys--I pulled the trigger too soon. I figured out that what I'm missing is a piece of the A-pillar cover. But I found the piece, and I think I can glue it together well enough. But the question remains about whether I should take the dash back out and paint the door jambs.

OK--I'll put this to bed. I did find some info online--don't know why I didn't find it when I searched before. I found that you have to have the key to put it in the locked position to remove the lock. Unfortunately, I don't have the key to the lock I need to remove. :(

Does anyone know how to get the lock out of the glovebox door? I need to paint the door, but can't do it right with the lock in there. Can't figure out which gizmo releases it, and don't want to break something finding out.
