Thanks for the suggestion. The part looks pretty simple to fabricate so I might just do that.

    Rivets in fenders?

I wonder if by 69 they figured out how to avoid using rivets. I think I'm just going to weld the holes shut. The rivets don't seem to be providing anything special and I like a cleaner look....

    New Guy Roadie 69

@Roadie 69 Welcome and I love your car. I put a lot of love into my '69 RR until I found a buyer who loved it more :) I'm now working on a '68 Coronet and LOVE your rear end. Can you give me some details? Where/how did you narrow the rear? What did you do about the suspension? What size...

    Rivets in fenders?

I'm not sure what you're suggesting. Are you saying because this is a difficult place to spot weld that the factory used rivets? Or, are you saying it will be difficult for me to spot weld?

    Rivets in fenders?

Okay, I THINK this is a stupid question but ... I'm restoring the front fenders on my 68 Coronet. There clearly was some damage done to the very front and I cleaned out a lot of bondo to reveal some pretty fun dents. My question is: I see these two rivets that seem to be holding the top of the...

What's this thing called inside my fender?

I'm restoring the fenders on my 68 Coronet and I removed these cardboard-y strips that were clipped in. I need to replace these but don't know what they're called. I know there are folks here who know. Thanks!

    Fender angles - help!

Thanks for your responses, everyone. I just went ahead and double checked my measurements and welded the fabricated piece on. You can see what I started with, the fabrication, and the fabbed piece welded in. I will finish the corner and then cut out the tabs and weld the bottom.

    Fender angles - help!

Thanks, Tom. I've been pretty meticulous so far and everyone's posting here is correct; I'm overthinking it.

    Fender angles - help!

Another good point. The tabs are on the section I'm fabbing. I'll remeasure my newly fabbed piece to make sure I have the measurements correct.
