Sorry to revive an old thread
I’m looking at buying these 295/55/15 for my 68 Charger
They will be going on a 15 x 8 wheel with 4.25” Backspacing
Think they should clear ok ?
I Currently have a 275/60/15 on 15 x 8.5 and around 4.75” BS with plenty of clearance
Thanks
Thanks for the replies
What’s involved in raising the front ? Never done that before
I think if the backspacing on these 80’s Centerlines that are on there is 3.75” the new ones I’m buying the backspacing is 4” so I think 1/4” inwards is all that will be needed to clear that bit where it’s...
Hi guys
I’m going to be buying some Centerlines for my 68 Charger soon so I tried the Centerlines I have on my Mustang on the Charger which are going to be similar size to which I’m buying and the front drivers side rubs on right turns and bumps
It’s rubbing on the brace support thing or...
So i finally managed to try some wheels i have on the Charger so please can I get people’s opinions on whether you think the 295/65’s will fit or not ?
So in the pics these are 15 x 8 Centerlines with 5” backspace and 275/60/15’s
Ideally I will be using these wheels
Width wise I have quite a...
I did try some Centerlines I have , 275/60/15 on a 15 x 8 with 5” BS and the gap here is about 1 and a 1/4 inch so I think the 295/65’s have an extra 1” on the sidewall so I think it would be quite close ?
This pic is the front of the rear wheel

Has anyone run 255/70/15’s on the rear of their car ? I know it’s not a common size but the 275/60’s on the rear of my 68 Charger still don’t fill the wheel wells as much as I’d like
I know the 255 is narrower but the higher profile 70 tire gives it a more bulky look which I like
Even...
Thanks for the replies
Yeah I know 15 x 10 is better for that size tire but the centerlines or ARE Outlaws I like only come in about 4” BS on a 15 x 10 so would definitely rub
I already have a set of older 15 x 8 Centerlines which have the 5” backspace
Anyone running 295/65/15's on the rear of their car ? Any pics ?
I have a 68 Charger and I have some 15 x 8 Centerlines with 5" backspace , you think they would rub or be ok ?
Pretty sure it's only Mickey Thompson who sell this size now , BFG no longer do them
I know 50 profile is more...
Thanks for the reply , yeah that’s the info I was after thanks
I’ll probably go with 15 x 8’s then with either the current tires or switch to 275’s
Shame those wheels don’t come in a better backspace , bit weird they only make them in 3.75” and 4”
thanks
Took some more pics today
So just to clarify my car in the pic below on the rear has
15 x 8
3.75” Backspace
295/50/15 tires
The wheels I want I can either go for exactly the same as what’s on there , eg 15 x 8 with 3.75” BS and use my current tires
Or I’m tempted to go 15 x 10 which has...
