Or after doing the inevitable bodywork, why not paint it tan for a while, then black? Or paint half black and half tan! Then cover it with your color of choice.
Given the car's current color scheme, I'd go with black. I guess the tan would go with the orange and the interior, but all those big black stripes would look good with a black top IMHO. However - be prepared for needing to remove the front and rear windows, repair the metal in the channels...
The car currently has a set of 15x6.5 steel wheels with 215/70-15 front and 235/70-15 rear. They have 4.25 backspace. Hoping to use the tires on the 15x7s since they only have 600 miles.
Same here. People keep mentioning Ramcharger wheels, but they’re even rarer than police wheels, it seems. $450 shipped for a pair of Wheel Vintiques - pretty much the only option, unless you get very lucky.
I can find 15x8 steel wheels all day long in 5x4.75 and 5x5 but never in 5x4.5. Would it be worth it to re-drill the axle flanges and drums? I guess I’d need to replace my spare with a multi-pattern wheel, but they are common. The cost of aftermarket steels are steep when you include shipping...
Fantastic car! I'm in the same position - my daughter is off to college and I'm freaked out about the student loan stories I've been hearing. Your knowledge of the Hemi conversion on these cars would be worth money to some people..... maybe it's a lucrative side hussle? You certainly have a...
Got my brother in law’s 66 Fastback back on the road after nearly 40 years of storage and I followed him over to a Mustang guy to get an appraisal so he can sell it. Naturally, everyone was more excited about my Charger! The kid that parked the black 5.0 Mustang next to it took a picture and...
Pay the money, get full AMD quarters and cut them down as needed. If I had to gamble with a non-AMD skin, get one from whoever has the best return policy.
I have a six quart oil pan on a 383 with headers and high volume oil pump. I’m changing the oil and only 3.5 quarts came out, including most of what was in the filter. I filled the new filter part way before installing (1/3 quart), then put five quarts of oil into the engine. I ran it a few...
This totally worked for me! I put a ground wire on the sender to one of the J bolts and got nothing. Then, I tightened the nuts on the gauges and boom! First time the gas and temp gauges have ever worked. Not sure it’s accurate, but it works!
The car was originally a 383 four barrel, but everything was missing when I bought the car. I had to rig up a bracket for the throttle cable, but with the carb spacer I might need a taller bracket and maybe a longer throttle cable. Adding the spacer really throws off everything.
I'm running a 1906 with a one inch spacer on my 383 - or at least, I will be, once I get the damn thing running right. No clearance issues under the hood, with a two inch thick aftermarket air filter. But check yours carefully before closing the hood!
I'm looking for a set of 3/8" thick flanges for my 383 with headers and Edelbrock 5090 heads to try to get a little more clearance for spark plug wires. I just got a new set of MSD wires with the bendable boots and before installing I want to make sure they have all the room they need. I also...
