    Hoosier DOT or NOT

I ran QTPs for years and they made my car feel like it was on Jello. I switched to M/T street drag radials and the handling went thru the roof but, they do not have the grip of the Hoosiers. Just drive slower if it rains, as you should anyway. Mike

    Rechroming of Keystone Klassic wheels?

I would guess it would cost more than double to rechrome your wheels than to buy new wheels. Mike

Valve Stem Caps (not so simple anymore)

I had a plastic cap seize on my tractor and with the help of a set of pliers, I twisted the brass nipple right out of the rubber sleeve. At that point a stream of beet juice came gushing out! Somehow I got the brass nipple back in the rubber. I called the local mobile tire guy and he stopped...

    Ford Wheels

Ford wheels, that I can remember, don't have the correct center register diameter for Mopars either. Mike

    Drag radials

They are still a lot better than the Hoosiers I used to run in the rain but, they don't hook up nearly as well. On the other hand, it doesn't feel like riding on a bowl of Jello like the bias ply Hoosiers! Mike

Fixing dents in dog dish hubcaps?

Buy a shot/sand bag to back those up while hammering. Mike

Broken Studs how to remove hub?

I pulled the drums off my new 94 2500 and antisiezed the mating surfaces. I can still just pull the drums by hand for inspection. Mike

Broken Studs how to remove hub?

I would think a thin cold chisel would separate the hub from the drum, then if the retainer/s is present (doubtful on a 68) I grab and twist to break them off (only there to hold on drums before assembly). Like mentioned above if drums are worn the brake shoes may have to be backed off (using a...

    Wheel Visualizer website

I think Hot Rod magazine was supposed to build a site like this 10 years ago. It never happened. Mike

Will factory style front disc brakes fit inside factory 14" wheels?

I believe there are more performance oriented drum brake shoes available. Another option would be a power booster. Mike

Can dents in Rallye wheel holes be fixed?

You could weld those up and grind back to shape. Mike

    DOT drag radials..... preference?

Originally I ran Hoosiers and they hooked great but it was like riding on a bowl of Jell-O. Switched to MT drag radials. Did not hook as well but, what a difference in ride and handling! Mike

    Rim Spacers to Adjust Backspace

If you space the wheels you lose the center register and may short yourself on lug threads. Not recommended. Mike

Magnum 500 and white letters or original hub cabs

I vote for wire wheels! I may have been drinking this PM. Mike

Anybody running Mickey Thompson ET Street SS tires?

I went from Hoosiers to M/T and lost traction but gained handling. Worth the trade off for me. 35 mph was the limit for the Hoosiers in the rain but the M/Ts are much better. Bias VS radial plies. Mike

    Wheel Visualizer

I think it was Hot Rod that was starting one of these programs, probably 10 years ago- it never materialized to my knowledge. Mike
