What did you use to clean it off? The headlight modules in the 80's Daytonas and Lebarons have the same stuff in them, and my '87 Shelby Z has had 2 of them crap their guts all over the dash harness.
If you take the wheel and inner fender off, it really makes things much easier to work on during head removal. You can actually take the head out through the wheel IIRC. That's how my brother does it at the shop, although he does have a lift.
I've been considering a Hughes Whiplash setup for the factory 400 in my '72 D100. If I do I'll get the whole kit and caboodle - cam, lifters, springs, and adj timing set.
