I flattened out the "prongs" and drilled a 3/16" hole in the center of the clip, installed rivet nuts in the square clip receiver hole (drilled to size), used 10-32 round head screws to retain the clips. Worked great.

I would recommend 1/8" tempered masonite for a package tray. I purchased a "supposed to be" reproduction tray for my 65 Coronet and it was a piece of masonite, rough side up, painted my interiors shade of blue. No aluminum foil on the bottom and a vinyl "hinge" to attach the vertical piece...
My folks bought me a leather jacket for HS graduation (brother got a new 69 Dart GT for his) and it was quite crispy after 50+ years. I found Pecards Leather Dressing online and I'm really impressed with the results after using it. Now it's on all my leather goods.

I'm using Eastwoods X-Mat. Easy to work with. I found a nice metal tape at ACE hardware to cover the seams. It's near the metal duct in the store.
