Thought i would share, I recently had to steal the smith 26” alum radiator out of my roadrunner as it was set up for my Dart (which I’m finally putting back together after several years). I bought a 26” Griffin for 70 model mopar. 2 row of 1.25” tubes. I bought a brand new shroud for a 70 26”...
Thanks, this is great info!! Going to need a radiator for the hemi dart. Weighing my options but the cold case was one I was looking at. I may have to look at the ACC, I’m going to be room limited anyway. That one should be around 800hp, I suspect it’s going to suck to cool.
drivers side will mount up pretty good, This one I had to drill holes (not sure that’s always the case). Passenger side will defiantly need drilled. Then you just have to add a spacer to the top. Pretty easy.
Msd recommends a resister with their boxes. I run resistor plugs in the dart and rr. 511 uses a BKR6E. Readily avaliable at the auto parts store for around $20 a set. That's at 10.5. If your up over a 11 try the BKR7E
Motor will stay cleaner with a 180. It may or may not et better with a 160. My hemi is about a 0.10 faster with a 160. Never bothered to try it on the roadrunner just because it's a street car 99% of the time.
A big motor like that could really benefit from a 26" rad. I put one in my runner, although I didn't cut the opening (factory 22"). I did however have to drill a few holes, not really a big deal. I run a factory shroud with a big flex type fan. My 511 does real good. Radiator is a smith with 2...
the one in the RR is out of a 77 powerwagon, i also have the truck water pump housing with a high volume milodon pump. use a factory clutch fan. that car will literately idle all day long in traffic on a hot day and never go over 185. actually did that last week at the hines drive cruise.

i always go with the 26", they still hold more water and provide extra surface area even if you dont cut the opening bigger. rr is still the smaller opening. the dart i opened up.
