Dodge A12 Bee finally getting attention!

It’s not, but it’s creepy it’s so close! Texas tags are different and the hood is different. And my front bumper is trashed from being towed by it. Mine doesn’t have that triangle in the grille and has a small dent in the left front fender near the headlight that’s been there since at least 1982.

Dodge A12 Bee finally getting attention!

I just did. I was laughing because I removed the arm rests and they had cigarette butts and a soda/beer can pull tab that must’ve been in there since the ‘70’s. There were only a few shreds of the sheet left. It was there, but mice got to it when they shredded the seat padding to build a nest...

Dodge A12 Bee finally getting attention!

Thanks!!! I’ve been searching restoration places for parts. Never thought about a race shop!

Dodge A12 Bee finally getting attention!

Wow - all good points and adding to my list of things to consider before making that final decision. I think at a minimum I’ll do what needs to be done either way - like to go through the engine short block and get that freshened up while I source other things I know I’ll need. The guys at...

I’ve never heard of that. I’ll have to give it a try!

Dodge A12 Bee finally getting attention!

Thank you. I would prefer to go that route, but am a little nervous about a couple of things. For one, I see some rust starting to form around the bottom of the rear window, around the taillights, and one lower quarter. Plus, isn’t the wiring harness a bit old to trust? I ordered the...

Or put a go-wing back on it!

Dodge A12 Bee finally getting attention!

I know it wasn’t original. From the mounting holes, it looks like it was a Mopar “Go Wing”. If the pic uploads, you can see the holes and why I wish the trunk lid could be saved. I assume those are factory assembly line markings in yellow.

Dodge A12 Bee finally getting attention!

I’ve had it listed in the Super Bee registry and the 6bbl/6pack registry for years.

Dodge A12 Bee finally getting attention!

Since you guys are able to help so easily, here’s another “issue” I’ll have to correct. The car was towed to the track by the front bumper. It caused damage to the metal strip above the bumper and below the grille. I have no clue what this part is called and haven’t found any listing for it...

Dodge A12 Bee finally getting attention!

We’ve had this very concern. If fully restored, how can I relax driving it anywhere? I’ve even considered putting the engine/trans in storage and putting non-original parts in so I don’t have to worry about throwing a rod if I want to play. But to keep it as a survivor, the front fenders...

Dodge A12 Bee finally getting attention!

Good advice. I think this is the approach to take - get it where I want it, then blow it apart and do it right. I’m just torn on taking it to how it was originally built, how it left the dealership (which would include a trunk wing), or how it was raced with the dual quad setup.

Dodge A12 Bee finally getting attention!

Awesome! I’ll check AMD for a crossmember replacement and trunk sheet metal. I’ll be able to check the rear next weekend. I’m 95% sure it’s legit - especially since I just verified after all these years that the numbers all match as I suspected they would.

Dodge A12 Bee finally getting attention!

If you insist! I was active duty Air Force stationed in San Antonio, Texas in 1981. The fellow I worked for was from Ahoskie, NC and was teaching me all about factory hot rods. I had a 1971 Camaro in High School, but it wasn’t with me. I saved some money to buy another car and he helped me...

Even the original top is in great shape.

Dodge A12 Bee finally getting attention!

It’s very solid but has a hard life. The original owner bought it to race and at one point broke the rear shock mount crossmember out and hack welded it back in. The sheet metal in the trunk over that crossmember is actually torn!
