The 187 in my 64 works. Pretty much the same as the 699 pan I have hanging on the wall.

You would have to change the transmission input shaft if you want more converter choices. I still use the original spline 64 727 with a stock...

Sounds like the carb. What type and size is it? Maybe the accelerator pump is set wrong or jets are not right.
@friendofvirgil sells a kit. I went to a place that sells gears etc and matched up o-rings for my cables.

Brass type sensors should never use sealant of any kind. They should seal fine when tightened. My SW electric temp sensor is off by 10 degrees...
