Come One, come all.
The Year of the '65, a pivotal moment in American racing circles on the street and tracks all across the nation. From boycotts at NASCAR, Legendary racing drivers crossing brand loyalty picket lines, wheelbases blatantly shifted and street racing at its highest.
Me too. LOL. It's been undercover and paint mists for a couple of months now in between life, work and travel schedules. I wish there was another extra month of time to really bring out the roses. There will be a modest display of tricks.
This '64 car is stunning. Even better if it's a tribute specimen.
Also, what an incredible feat for the Red Dart Maxie here to have survived all these decades.
There should be a host of cars at MCACN that will shame this one back into the trailer and there will be some that are just as thuggish and rugged. Hanging out with the sinners is always more fun. Get a closer look at this one and all the others at the show.
"The Palm Reader" getting niddy gritty into the details. Just trying to trigger the old paint with a few touch ups. Friday night street cars don't need to be Spic and Span, just presentable.
The anticipated visits on the show's floor will be mutually appreciated and revered. Beautiful car. My friend Special K would love to see your Dart Maxie as he also has a real deal three speed Savoy Max Wedge in Ruby Red.
By the way, people think that I am running a Hemi because of the optics...
My friend "Fast "Grumpy" Freddy" with his beautiful cream yellow '68 L78 396 powered Nova Deuce just checked into the 10 second club hotel this past week over at Cecil County. 10.96 on a 1. 124 MPH. He's been chasing the number on Poly-Glas sneakers for a while now. So happy for him.
I believe it's in the rear leaf spring positions, but I could be wrong. The front spring hangers may be longer or shorter on the Coronet. I think longer. Anyone?
A fresh coat of dull aluminum was just applied to the handmade wafer thin steel bumper that itself is probably lighter than an aluminum one. Note: aluminum carriage bolts.
Less than a month away before this pup sits exposed for all eyes to see it up close. The display will be minimal, but the...
Yes, agreed. I'm talking the whole 904 package with the case and all. Everyone in these parts were running SB 727's and the idea of a 904 cased and internal piece package in a real street driven brawler was a head scratcher.
His Father "Top Boy" has a long, long history behind the TFlites and...
A 904 is lighter and strong contrary to what is popular belief. My friend's real pure street Duster runs mid 10's with a 904. He's probably one of the first, if not the first guy running such a setup.
There are a lot of tricks (obviously) in that Butterscotcher that I am not at liberty to...
Here's the mucho lighter package with tubes mind you. It would be much lighter if they were tubeless. I'll weigh them again against the steelies when I get a chance.
Geezus Lord almighty.
These REAL steel stock rims with Pro-Trac L60's were no joke when it came to breaking scales. One of them alone breached the 60 Lbs limit and I would guess it to be closer to 68-70 Lbs per rim/tire. I'm now changing over to my lightweight race rims and tires for the MCACN...
