Does your '74 have large rubber "donut" isolators between the K member and body? If so, they probably need replacing if you can find replacements. My '79 has them, but I don't know when Chrysler introduced them to B bodies.
...that and installed the upper control arm bumper, the shock was roughly 3/4" from the tower to the stud bushing at full droop. Without the bumper, it would have been easily double that. But like I said earlier, SOSDD[ same old s..t different day]. And as everyone can see, the picture is off...

Yes, you can, and should remove the oil pan. You can swing the centerlink out of the way to remove the pan.
