With a 516 or 915 closed chamber head, quench is possible.
With a stock 69 906, with its completely open chamber, the is NO QUENCH, NONE, unless aftermarket quench reverse dome pistons are installed (or the heads milled about .125!)
I believe the o.p. is anticipating problems. He might not have...
I found some balls my guys really like. Soft enough to be easy on teeth, they'll tear up a bit , but I have never found any of them with a piece of ball missing, not something I can say about most of the others we've used. Since my current stash was getting pretty well used up, I went to my...
As stated above, the rated comp ratios were often a 1/2-1 point higher than actual. 9-9.5 should run okay on 91, 93 would be better.
Since stock 69 heads have no quench anyway, a thicker head gasket is an easy solution if you do have detonation problems.
Pull the main caps, looking for a spun main bearing. If they're good, no need to send it to a machine shop, unless you wanna check for cracks (a good idea!).
Reground crank, matching main and rod bearings. Google'd 318 crank kit, found one for $188, plus shipping and tax. I don't know if that's with or without a core.
I had the almost-identical wheels.... on my trailer.
They are bunches better than whitewalls and wheel covers.
As noted above, westerns are a quality piece.
They would not be my first choice.
If you have em... run em
If they still belong to somebody else.... I'd look around some more.
That depends....
Do you trust the rebuilder?
Do you have a competent local machine shop/crank grinder that you trust?
Does it look like you'll need to bore it, or just re-ring?
In the old days, I would have just bought a crank kit from a rebuilder shop, and sized a couple rods (or bought a...
In Cali for a few days, where it's an hour behind Arizona, so now the pooch wakes me up at 3:30 for breakfast.
If we were staying here longer, I'd try to teach that out of him, ..... but he looks so pleading and pathetic, so......
Now on my second Baileys and coffee, dog snoozing, visiting A and...
A12 was the option package designation in 69 1/2 for Super Bee and Road Runner.
In 70, six pack option was something else .
An A13 in 69 was a 440 A-body.
An A12 in 70, was the Chrysler 300 Hurst.
Those are the right carbs, 99%+ that is a A12 intake.
Edelbrock sold 6pak manifolds, and mopar also sold them over the counter. Not counting the iron ones, I believe there are four versions of the 440 Sixpack manifold. A couple with the CH6B, one later without, cause people complained the...
They were supposed to detach the engine from the pylon for service, but found that removing pylon and engine as a unit saved multiple hours of maintenance work. The technique was NOT approved .FAA didn't like it, manufacturer didn't like it, airline did like it.
It was the re-attachment with...
