Your best beater that you beat the snot out of but it kept treating you well?

Definitely not a 'beater' ... but I did drive my '70 Road Runner pretty hard in the day. I was never one for smashing gears ....I always used that clutch pedal, but I did slide the car around a lot of roads, drive fast and did some towing at various speeds over the years I had it. I...

    Layson's big sale?

When they were at Woodley Park for a CPW show in Van Nuys a couple of years ago, their prices were so high that 20% off wouldn't have been much off.

Your best beater that you beat the snot out of but it kept treating you well?

1978 Pontiac Grand Prix I bought around ‘94 for $500. Had a lot of probs but I fixed it up enough to race every weekend. Did that for about a year, it wasn’t quick but I lost track of how many passes, most hot lapping. At one point I put a cam in it, just lined up dots with the sloppy chain and...

Non computer controlled RWD with best gas mileage ? Car and truck

The best I ever got on my 71 Challenger 340 w/ 4speed and 3.23 rear was 22mpg keeping my foot out of it and just cruising. I had a 72 Challenger slant 6 manual trans get about 23 mpg. My 2015 Challenger R/T Shaker 5.7 auto 8 speed trans with MDS gets about 28 mpg on trips and around 20 in town...

Tips on removing passenger side exhaust manifold?

Thank you pnora. I didn't think the manifolds would be an issue but forgot about the engine offset. The longer than normal studs don't help. Hopefully the lifting goes without issues and I can get to putting things back together.

Weird Race at NHRA World Finals!

Very odd for a national event. Also highly unusual they are offering credits for another race if you want, that's just not something they like to do. You and Jon should have enough data from that track and your cars to have a good day at the races. Will be busy though with multiple cars...

Non computer controlled RWD with best gas mileage ? Car and truck

I bought a 2000 Crown Vic with almost 200k miles on it in 2017 for a couple thousand , drove it around 150 miles a day for about a year then got something nicer, but most importantly kept the Vic. When the newer cars let me down or I sell them I know the Vic is there. A year or so ago I had a...
