I re-thought this. I think you can only get two bolts in if the orientation is wrong If it's wrong, you can't get a bolt into the offset hole in the converter , or through the offset hole in the flexplate into the standard location hole in the converter. So, If it's got three in, you should be...

I had a light under the car, that could just be a reflection of the light on the metal. If they aren't lined up, I can take all four bolts out and attempt to line them up, is it easy to spin the converter that close to the flex plate?

73-74 models don't use cam bolts. There are slots in the k member. I didn't have any problem getting 3.5 degree positive caster and .5 degree negative camber on my 73 RR.

Totally agree. You can get 3 in and the 4th won't line up. Get the orientation correct and all 4 will line up. It's seriously annoying.
