This is normal rub marks due to the rings not being seated yet. The pistons have to move to assemble the engine, thus the rub marks. Just squirt a little oil in each cylinder and rotate the crank a few times to oil the cylinders and rings before firing it up.
Everything started clicking for me this year. Won some races. Got the car into the 9.30's. Decided I needed a little more power to complete in 9.50 class during summer months. Was going to send the heads and intake out for hand porting.
