On a small block anyway the tube fits directly into a hole in the front of the cylinder block. On the left side near the small core plug in the photo.

Eastwood had some black Crinkle paint. I used it on my '71 Dual snorkel, Although i have seen both Smooth and Crinkle on the Dual snorkels for 1971. I wondered which was correct.
