I think if it were me, and you knew the short block was good, i'd do the e-street heads with RPM intake and definitely use less cam than the RPM cam.
that RPM cam would be a real torque killer in a 383; which doesn't make an abundance of torque to begin with.
I had some 1 3/4's and 1 7/8's in a '68 b-body 383 back in the day. IIRC the 1 3/4 fit fairly well. but, after using TTI's I wouldn't use hooker...
what you use for springs depends on what distributor, and other factors. I don't use the delco/msd type springs for factory mopar distributors.
all "standard" wires (OEM 7mm type) will do is add resistance into the system. they'll work.
i use them. I spray them with silicone before use. never had an issue.
