It's not that I want to keep it simple, It's just such an original car that I don't want to interfere with whatever voodoo force that lives within it, it runs too...
Thanks guys! The engine is still in the car that it was installed in around mid 1970. It is a 4 speed car, so these parts can be victims from time to time. I really hate to bust the bottom end apart unless absolutely necessary. I even thought about having a damper chrome plated on the inside...

So i have a 440 engine, Factory Replacement Engine (built in mid-year 1970) with stock rotating assembly. Forged steel crankshaft, factory six pack connecting rods, factory 9.7:1 cast pistons. The crank is original standard grind, with about 30,*** miles of light abuse. Oil pressure is...
they have 2.14/ 1.88 valves. i know that they were bolted on a 426 hemi shortblock with the head bolts modified so the wedge heads would work. (was changed back to hemi by my grandfather) i just wondered if they were a special head made by chrysler for petty or ? because if you took a stock...
I am looking for some info on the 426 wedge engines Petty Enterprise used after the hemi was "removed" from NASCAR in 1971. I was told petty used the existing hemi engines he had, but turned them to wedge engines to satisfy nascar. I am trying to find out what kind of heads did he use for...

Great deal!! These were bought new by a family member for a 360 I was building for him, and by some magical way I ended up with the engine and all...
Its always best to rebuild your own trans, because there is alot for someone else to screw up...and manual valve body wont hurt you as long as you remember to shift lol. But once again, you don't know what they have done with the valve body. I prefer to do it all myself, and im only 21 years...
Looking for a set of 1970 ONLY 440 383 valve covers. just need them for driver engine, would prefer them not to be too banged up, but not picky. Help a poor white trash west virginian teenager out here! My '70 Bee will thank you!
I am a young Moparian, and have contracted a high interest in engine fundamentals as a result of this.
Today, my thirst for knowledge revolves around camshaft design and how to define all of those numbers.
First of all, I understand advertised duration, valve lift, and a basic idea of @.50"...
I am just wondering if anyone out there has heard of an individual or company that makes a distributor cap to fit a stock 318-440 distributor that has male GM style HEI terminals? I thought i had seen an article on this in one of the many past mopar action magazines, but i cannot find anything..
i have a 70 bone stock super bee, i am converting to electronic ignition...my question is what electronic box should i use? I have heard horror stories about orange and chrome boxes going bad prematurely, and the stock replacement units at parts stores have too low of a RPM capability? I want...
I have a 70 coronet 440 that i have been cloning to a super bee for the past five years! rallye dash, 440 six pack engine, pitchfork hood, woodgrain dash, etc... its a lot of work if you want to do it correctly, but it pays off in the end! But i would not be opposed to keeping one original if i...
