We are selling our 1971 Dodge Charger SE. Its a great car in need of some time, restoration, paint and effort. $18,000 and located in Southern California.
Unfortunately it has light rust in usual places (quarter panels and wheel wells), but no holes in right floorboard, rear floor boards...
I took it off the car, then got a daddy/husband/come here request, and it went into the corner with my headliner rods (those are easily identifiable and even the location they go because I didn’t get a demand). It’s a little over 3 feet long and I believe it came off the rear or front of my’71...
I’ve got a 1971 Charger SE and I want to put the AC back into it. I have these parts already:
Sanden Style AC Compressor with 2 Groove Pulley and brackets.
Rebuilt heater and AC box with hoses, actuators and controls
Rebuilt AC dash control
AC wiring harness
I need:
receiver drier
Expansion...
I tried JB weld on this and it broke again. I’m thinking of adding a little metal on the back, and then Jb weld, but that may make the emblem sit higher in mounting. Any good suggestions for bonding the two pieces together?
Luckily the posts are still good.
I’ve seen a YouTube video showing the fan blows towards the Radiator cooling the water in the radiator, and a post on this forum that says the fan blows towards the motor drawing more air from the front to cool the radiator. ‘71 Dodge Charger 440 with 7 blade clutch fan.
Hello,
Catalogs don’t list a 71 horn relay.
Google doesn’t show a 1971 horn relay location.
I see plenty of discussions of 73 buzzer horn relays.
This makes me think that the 1971 didn’t have a specific horn relay, or maybe it routed off of the starter relay?
if 1971 had a horn relay, can...
1971 Charger with 440. What is this part, it looks like a black painted soup can with two connection prongs. It’s mounted under the battery tray on the driver side and doesn’t seem to be connected to anything.
My son’s car.
Thanks!
My sons car was purchased from New Mexico and it was bought paint stripped. Since it’s been unprotected it’s gotten surface rust (it already had some common areas for more aggressive rust). I have an Eastwood Countour SCT sander that can take the rust off pretty easily. We don’t have a...
Hi, I’ve removed the retaining nut, and want to remove the fuel sending unit. I’ve tried a light pounding and twisting and it won’t budge. Any tips for getting it out?
1971 Charger. Where can I get another one of these? Or source? Two were originally in an AC unit for a 1971 Charger SE? 1 1/2” by 7/8”. Thin, but doesn’t flex easily. Thanks.
1971 Dodge Charger SE with 440
The 727 Torqueflite is leaking from oil pump housing. My mechanic says he will have to send out to rebuild. Is this needed and does it need to be rebuilt? If so, what’s a reasonable estimate?
On my son’s ‘71 Dodge Charger SE, that originally came with a 383, but now has a 440. I ordered a Disc Brake kit from Dr Diff, but can anyone provide details on the original on there (front)?
They are definitely not 11” since I compared an 11” drum I had for my Charger project (the grey one...
I went to O’Reilly’s and they couldn’t find me some fuel lines for the rear fuel lines to my son’s ‘71 Charger, so I went hunting online. I ordered the set from Mega Parts. Today, they nicely told me they haven’t gotten a shipment of fuel lines and it should be a month. I see YearOne has them...
When the tank is filled, gas starts traveling up the driver’s side of the vehicle and then starts leaking down from the area of the vapor/evaporator tank. When more gas is spent, the leaking stops. What is the issue?
1971 Dodge Charger/ 440 carburetor.
It came apart pretty easily, and the innards look simple.
Can’t get the dial selector to move.
A piece fell out.
Can I soldier the piece back in (I think the front) and how to best unfreeze the station dial?
