In the process of putting together a RR with a 700 hp 505 topped off with a Sniper. It is going to take some time to figure out the best way to wire the car since we want it to look nice and clean.
My new 9 inch assembly showed up the other day. It is a full Strange Engineering unit ordered from Doctor Diff. I went with the Pro nodular iron case with polished gears (3.89 ratio) S trac differential, bigger pinion support, billet 1350 yoke, fabricated housing, boxed mounts for the leaf...
I got tired of kicking the spare transmission around so I built a little tricycle dolly for it using bent sheet metal and 5 inch casters. Now the transmission rolls around the shop nice an easy.
My '65 Coronet has been sitting in the corner for the past year waiting for its new engine. The engine was built last year and run on the dyno but I've been super busy with other projects so I just never got it installed. Engine is a 496 (426W with 4.25 stroke) with mild compression and mild hyd...
Just ran one of the new Sniper Xflows today. Engine is a 505 inch big block with Trick Flow 270 heads, a Comp solid roller and a ported Indy 440-2 intake. Engine runs on pump gas and made right at 700 hp. The new Xflow is 900 cfm and has 120 lb injectors. The regular Sniper is rated for 650 hp...
I think I finally figured out how to mount a Type II Corvette PS box to my big block. I'm also hanging a 90 amp Denso alternator on the front at the same time. The PS brackets are made from 0.188 steel which I had laser cut to shape and then I bent them on my brake. They are raw in this picture...
Article just published in Car Craft. I know it is an A body car but some folks on here might be interested in the higher end port injection setup.

The red steering wheel in my '65 Coronet 500 is cracked in several places. I'm not sure if it can be saved or not. I looked around a bit and didn't come up with any restoration places that fix steering wheels but I assume there are a few guys who know how to do it. Year One sells a reproduction...
I have a 496 inch RB engine in my '65 Coronet with a Lakewood bellhousing and a Doug Nash 5 speed. Nothing off the shelf fits my combination but I was able to modify a set of Schumacher tri-y headers to work. The flanges needed to be cut off and then the pipes were extended down and back. I then...
Just finished up dyno testing the 496 for my '65 Coronet. This is a factory 426W block with a 4.250 stroke, TF240 heads, a TF intake and a Comp hyd roller cam. It made 610 hp and 630 ft-lbs of torque. Nice smooth engine that will run just fine on pump gas. Should be out hitting the streets this...
I don't think I've ever seen an underhood pad on a 1965 Coronet but the holes are there. I came across an original hood the other day that had remnants of an underhood pad so I guess they must have existed. Anyone have pictures of an original one? I suppose someone reproduces them and the...
Pump gas engine with hyd roller cam. Looking for 575 to 600 hp. Should be on the dyno in the next week or two, just need to put the correct oil pan on it and haul it over to the shop.
I found out the hard way that Koni shocks use a 5/8 mounting stud rather than the correct Mopar size. Evidently the Koni engineers aren't capable of reading blueprints and I guess they refuse to correct their error. Anyway, rather than trying to get them to correct their mistake I just decided...
My test engine made 880 hp with the new Holley individual coil setup. Ran strong on the dyno.

This engine is going into an A body car but the same idea would work for a B body car or any other Mopar with EFI and a mechanical water pump. I think I have it all sorted out now but it did require some invention.
Trick number one is that I'm using one of my new small diameter 36-1 trigger...
Complete 514 inch race engine fresh off the dyno. 880 hp on C14 gas, has made over 900 hp with Q16 gas. Complete EFI system including Wilson ported intake, Holley 2000 cfm throttle body, fuel rails, injectors and injector harness. Coil on plug with 8 Holley coils and coil harness. Callies...
My buddy brought his GTX over last weekend for some work so we had a couple of B body cars and the Duster in the shop at the same time. Always fun to spend a weekend wrenching on the old Mopars.
I'm trying to figure out which is the best size of rear tire to go with on my '65 Coronet. I currently have a 315/45-17 tire out back which is a super nice tire but I can't find them in that size anymore. Looks like I need to go to a 19 or 20 inch wheel in order to find a big tire with a 28 inch...
