Very true, I have two stock chargers - one a 383HP w/3. 55's and the other a rallye 340 w/3.23 gears. For around town I usually drive the big block car. The additional torque makes it a fun car to drive and gets the rather heavy B Body moving easily with good power throughout the rpm range...
Thanks so much for posting, I missed it when it aired. Awesome cars but what struck me funny was the red super bee at 21:36 with the SE interior. With all of his original cars, from what I know the SE was never available as a separate option let alone on the rather economy minded super bee.
Great story and the car looks fantastic. My first was a rallye red 74. Spent all my airmen's pay back in the eighties to bring her back only to have it catch fire a year later. I lost heart and let her go. Some days I wish I held onto it.
And no, I couldn't fit into those old fatiques...
That era Chargers have some pretty bad blind spots also. I drive my 72 on the highway from time to time and always sit up in the seat and take a gool look over my shoulder before changing lanes. In a road test article from 1971 the writer mentions dual side mirrors should be a mandatory...
Name it Whistling Dick :laughing6:
The gun would gain fame because of a whistling sound the oddly rifled weapon caused the shells to make in flight. The weapon was originally a model 1839 smoothbore cannon that was later rifled. It became a legend when Union veterans at post-war reunions...
Quick question, would you happen to know the float height for one of these? There's no sight plug and no instructions/specs included in the kit. I'm kind off at a stand still at the moment. Thanks
Thanks for the great information. I also replaced the fuel pump, no change. Took the car in the shop for a different reason and just mentioned the problem with the carb. I got the car back and now the secondaries are working fine. I'll have to ask what they did as I didn't even know it was...
Thanks for the very informative reply. I was fortunate to so easily locate the numbers correct carb for my application. From what I understand these carbs are hard to find and many were junked years ago. Should be an easy rebuild. Just looking at it, the throttle bores and plates are clean...
Acquired a production model Holley 4668A for a 71 383HP Automatic. Anyone happen to have a pic handy of a factory holley mounted on a motor that might include the fuel line, choke etc. I'm having problems finding one.
I'm considering rebuilding it and swaping out the Carter AVS 6125 on...
Hot Tip: Searching ebay put "-f" after your search criteria, example: 1971 charger -f
This will remove all those stupid listings of fits this or that, just happened to figure that out.
I can't speak for the rest of the market but I spent a lot of money on ebay the last few years along with...
