So, you're thinking the vacuum may be too weak to overcome the spring? That may very well be true. Vacuum is only about 6 or 7 at idle and barely works the power brakes.
My 1962 Sport Fury has a V code (1964) 413 in it with next step down from max wedge heads, high performance cam, Weiand high rise and 2 600 cfm Edelbrock carbs (both are 1406s). Car runs great with a new Summit CDI ignition setup. I realize the carbs really need to be 500 cfm. My issue is an...
I really feel like a fool asking a question that is so open-ended, but here goes: I have a 1962 Sport Fury with a V code 413 (V code means it's a 1964 engine). It has a mild build with what sounds like a purple hydraulic cam; heads that are one step down from max wedge, with dual valve springs...
I'm looking for a park cable housing for my A727 Torqueflite pushbutton trans. Mine has pinholes and hairline cracks. If anybody has one they're parting out, I would appreciate a call. Dan Wilson (205)907-220

The as found picture clearly shows the filter was correct, two suction holes, but the B&M extension and gasket only had a hole for the forward pump suction. This arrangement completely isolated the rear pump in my early (1962-65) a-727, causing severe shifting problems.
The methodology picture...
You know, I believe I can use the correct filter and the three mounting holes to accurately locate the second suction hole in the billet aluminum extension and then drill it on my drill press. I will look at it when I get it out.
This is the B&M picture of the kit model number I installed. Looks like the extension has only one suction hole as y'all feared. Cannot believe B&M would not include these type precautions. Hopefully, I will have time to drop pan tomorrow. Hope there's no damage. Thanks for y'all's insights.
don't have my old filter, but I wondered the same thing. How do I check for sure? My trans is one of the old ones and I think it does have two pumps. Is there a casting no, etc, I can verify?
Thanks
Trans had normal amount of black residue in pan. All I did was adjust all 3 bands. I have an inch-pound torque wrench so that should be ok. All bands were pretty loose. Mileage unknown, but interior was clean and fluid wasn't burnt.
Thanks
