There were no "HP" stampings on the 67 motors, just build dates, you'll need to find your cars completed build date and find a motor with a build date of 4 days-2 weeks PRIOR to your cars build date.

truth be told, I typically run the type of air cleaner that the OP, Robe81, pictured in his post, although, not near as tall as that filter.
Hmmm, I'm not certain why it would make a difference (???) is this a big block or small block?
Talk to your engine guy again, because on a big block the pump doesn't go on the motor, it goes on the wp housing.
But ill ASSUME this is a small block (?)

im not positive about the differences between the MP and Petronix Elec. Ign. to comment, but I will say the MP system is a good one and is a complete dizzy kit, where as (depending on which Petronix kit you have) mods the orig dizzy with a pick up.

I do agree, it is odd that he'd running that air cleaner, I could understand it more, IF, there were some hidden perf mods (intake, carb, heads, Elec. Ign, etc) but that...
More is better.
A/C cars had small pulleys so it would spin the fan, pump, etc faster (because of A/C)
Non-A/C cars have larger pulleys and more impellers, typically, more impellers equal more flow.
