As much as I enjoy driving the Coronet, whenever we take long trips, like to the Mopar Spring Fling in Van Nuys, I take the Dart because it has an ancient Keisler Engineering Tremec 5-speed and I can cruise at 65 and 2,100 rpm. I've been mulling over converting to the Tremec for years but there...
Yep, I did it this time. Usually when I break something on car, after a bit of troubleshooting I figure it out, a lot of times by pure luck. In this case, my 69 Coronet has a no crank issue and after the better part of 4 weekends including six hours today I'm still at square one.
First the...
What are member's opinions on replacing electronic gear like ignition switches, starter relays, brake switches, etc. with brand-new in the original packaging OEM part that's 50+ years old, vs. brand new repro from Rock Auto or O'Reillys? For reliability sake, I'm weighing decades of possible...
Back in 2015 as I was getting nearer to completing the Coronet resto I decided to ditch the carb and go with EFI. The car was being built as a driver, something my wife could jump in and drive with no drama. That summer FiTech had taken SEMA by storm with their $995 throttle body EFI; ECM...
The handheld controller died and FiTech wants $200 for their new and improved controller. Does anyone have a good handheld controller they want to sell?
Thanks,
Rich

The Coronet has had hot start issues for the three years it's been back on the road. At operating temps when the engine's turned off, trying to restart it's like having a dead battery. Gasing up is an adventure - have to open the hood while refueling and take my time, wash the windows, etc...
