Gang,
My father told me that the A-12 cars rolled off the line as if I recall correctly 383 cars and the engines were pulled and replaced later at some third party. If I recall this happened on 2 days in 1969. Does anyone have information on that story? What they had in them, where they...
Any suggestions on oil weight for an original 440 six pack 1969 Bee with 50k miles? I live in Iowa but the car never gets started when the weather is below 32 degrees F.
The attached picture from the service manual suggests a 10w40 or 20w40 if it doesn't get started much under 32 degrees F.
I...
I found some cancer on my ride. Any suggestions on how to handle the leaf spring mounting area? I assume the mounting plate needs cut out and a new one welded in and then drill 4 holes for the leaf spring eye mount?
I assume this is something custom and no parts available to use to weld in...
I am not new to FBBO, but this 1969 440 Six Pack Super Bee is. My dad bought his pride and joy less than 24 hours after returning from Vietnam. He even had two Super Bee tattoos. He owned it for 49 years until I lost my dad about 1 month ago. He was my best friend and is the reason I am who I...
So my trunk light quit working. I tried a new bulb and that did not do the trick. I tested power and I have a full 12+Volts at the light. See my picture below. I am not exactly sure where the power feed is supposed to come in. For the center contact point, should this be hot?
Thanks!
I am looking for a new coolant temp sensor wire and cap. Wire is brittle and thought I would replace before I try to repair. Any idea where I can find one of these? I dont need the sensor in the water pump housing, just the wire with rubber boot.
Just to the right of the upper radiator hose in...
Hoping someone on here can help point me in the right direction. I have a 1973 Charger with a Ralleye Dash Cluster. At some point the dash lights stopped working. Not sure when they stopped.
I have collected the following information:
The fuse box cavity #5 (coincidentally a 5 amp fuse) burns...
Has anyone installed a transmission temperature gauge? I am thinking about installing one just to know how warm it is running. I have had no problems but would like to know.
If you have a temp gauge what kind, do you like it, how was the install, where did you mount the gauge, and do you have...
Anyone have some pics of how/where you ran your cooler lines? I got a new B&M stacked plate cooler for my 73 Charger and am trying to decide where I want to run my lines to mount on the front side of the radiator.
Thanks!
I have a 1973 Charger. I am looking to add a transmission cooler. Looking to get a male fitting that threads into the radiator with a barbed end on the other side. Does anyone know what the thread is on the lower two holes in the radiator?
Thanks!
I have pressed on the harmonic balancer on my 400 after replacing the timing chain and gears. I have a deep pulley. Any suggestions on the easiest way to keep engine from turning over while trying to torque it down to 135 ft lbs?
I am putting my timing cover, water pump housing, water pump, and new oil pump on my 400. I have heard people suggest gaskets, gasket maker, or both together. I am leaning towards just gaskets after cleaning the surfaces very well. They have no significant scratches in the mating surfaces.
I...
I am putting on a new oil pump. I am hearing that I should pack it with Vaseline to aid in priming. I am planning on spinning the pump with a drill like I did in the past when I lost prime after letting my oil drain overnight.
Any thoughts on if the Vaseline is a good or bad idea on a bb mopar...
I am replacing my motor mount on the drivers side in a 1973 Charger. I have had the part for a while and have no box or instructions. The rubber insert on the spindle seems to have two arrows pointing the same direction. Anyone know if this should be put in a certain direction?
Thanks!
I am having my steering box rebuilt. While it is out of the car I checked my rag joint and no surprise it is pretty rough. The other coupler (highlighted in attached) just up from the rag joint is also in disrepair.
Any suggestions on whether to try and replace the rubber in the rag joint...
I have a 1973 Charger with a 400 (single bolt cam). I just replaced my timing chain and gears with a double roller. I did not touch the cam. When I torque back down my cam bolt should I use thread locker? If so blue or red?
Should I use my original bolt or should I replace?
Thanks!
Working on a 73 Charger 400. I have the front end of the engine apart down to the timing cover doing some other work. I have replaced the passenger side motor mount last fall when I replaced the alternator, fuel pump, etc. but not the driver's side yet.
I can't really even see the driver's side...
Have the cover off and looking to install new seal. Since it goes in from the inside is there a tool you all use to install without hitting on the lip of the seal?
Everywhere I look is back ordered. Anyone else having problems finding a 272/272 duration .455 lift mopar performance cam or have any suggestions where to look? I have tried Summit and Jegs as well as Ebay.
I have the car torn apart but hoping to have it back together before spring!
Thanks!
