If I could find a clean 69 Dart GT like the one I owned in my youth I would get it in a heartbeat. T5 Bronze, Black Vinyl top & bucket seat interior, originally a 273 but dropped a +.040" 400" in it with a hydraulic cam and 4.10 geared 8-3/4" Fast little car!
Picture from about 1986 or 87 next...
Thanks for posting! I saw these HID/Halo's on e-bay and was contemplating putting them on my 69 RR. Wasn't sure how they would be "received" by others (Them don't belong on a musclecar!) but F&@% it, it's not their car! I'm definitely putting the LED tail light panels in.
Thanks again and...
Thanks for the kind words Russ, Glad to hear from you.
He was very particular about every detail about the car. I think he knew he had one shot to make this car "right". It set a few standards for it's time and you and Balow were a huge part of that.
Not with any amount of traction and/or abuse. I had an 8-1/4 in my dart. Lived just fine for 25 years with a 273 2barrel in front of it. I put a mild 400 in it with an Engle EP-22 cam, vac secondary Holley, and stock 906 heads and iron intake. I did one burnout with G-60-14 radial tires and...
Solid motor mounts can actually be bad for your motor. Under the torque of a launch with big horsepower and traction, the engine still wants to twist out of the mounts. Because it can't, stresses put on the block can actually distort the #1 & even the #3 cylinder in extreme cases out of round...
My Dad's early production 64 Polara 500 383 4 speed convert had an iron case BW T-10 from the factory. It was a bitch finding internal parts for as it shared some stuff with early 60's Corvettes, but not all of the internals. They did what they could when they rebuilt it but couldn't find some...
I love hanging out with car guys. That's why I go to cruise nights and the drag strip. I watched a guy try to pick apart my dad's concourse restored 64 Dodge Polara 500 at a show. Telling him they didn't come with floor shift, they were all push button. The 500 actually DID have a floor shift...
Thanks, got it now. I messed up and clicked 4.5" for backspacing instead of 4.5" for bolt circle. (guess that's why it only listed a 4.5" backspace...duh).
440beep, Summit (currently) only lists the 15x10 with a 4.5" backspacing. Did you get 5.5"? Or was it a typo. Want to run the same setup on my 69 RR and would love to have as much tire as I can stuff in there.
Thanks all. When it was restored/sold, it had the 64 spinner wheel covers kind of like the picture of the car above (in front of the fence) though that car has a black boot for the top. Not to say someone couldn't have changed wheels. The easy way to tell if it is "The" car and could only be...
Hi all, I'm relatively new here, but have always wondered where my Dad's (Bruce Hinrichs) old Polara went. Hoping it ended up in the hands of an enthusiast and not some stuffy collector that keeps it in a climate controlled shop.
The car was restored by Muscle Car Restorations in the late 80's...
Thanks for the warm welcome all! I don't have any great pictures yet. The car (body) is on a rotisserie in a dark shop right now. Most of my pictures are of parts, cleaned & painted or powder coated. Waiting on the current owner to get the sheet metal in primer and underside in paint (T5 Bronze...
Hi All, glad to be here. New to the forum, but not to MoPars. I'm a former street racer with my 69 Dart GT, 407" big block, Auto. Sold it to go NHRA drag racing and bought a 74 Duster bracket car with a 440", then got married. No cool cars until now (divorced for a year). I'm starting a 69...
