This is the FIRST Super Bee known to exist out of the Los Angeles Plant. It was decoded by Galen Govier to be the 1st Bee and a 1 of 1 car with QQ1 blue paint and white interior. This stunning Bee has all original sheet metal (except trunk panel), a period correct 383 block and 727 Torqueflite...
Hello all, I had to switch my interior to the original pearl white interior, but my old black seats were still in great shape. There are no tears at all. Should be able to install on your frames very easily. It is a split front bench seat and regular back seat. I am pretty sure the pattern is...
Hello all, I have a near perfect set of front and rear door panels. They came off of my 1968 Super Bee. I don't know if the pattern is correct for the car, but still a perfect set. They were made by Legendary Interiors. For all four new they are over $600, I'll take $300 for the set go half on...
Hey Three wood. My bee has the Jan 23rd build date. I'm in Scottsdale. Do you know the history of this car. I know it was sold in Los Angeles area and then made it's way to Nevada and then to AZ. I found the owner's manual and the original owner only put 3000 miles on the car in the first year...
Hello all, I bought the car back in 2008 and just started restoring it about 18 months ago. I am going nuts trying to make everything original. It is the earliest known to exist 68 superbee out of the LA plant. I confirmed that the k member, body panels, mufflers, windshield wiper motor and even...
Hey guys, this is a great discussion. I "reopened" this post because it hit the other blog and I couldn't get registered there to discuss, so I started it here. 69Coronetrt, did you read the other blogs new owner about the car? "Everything suggests it's a real Superbee..." The date code numbers...
And how stupid would you feel if something like that actually happened 69Coronetrt? Unless you worked on the line as that car goes down it, then and only then will you know what happened. I have heard spectacular stories about what happens on the line. So, instead of have having a melt down, be...
Yep...I'm leaning that way now. I did look at the pics though. Whoever did the conversion, did a great job. That certainly looks like a superbee throughout. The numbers stamped on the rad support and in the trunk under the weatherstrip...is that the sequence number or the vin number?
Ahhhh....that could be. It really is a coronet or coronet 500 and someone messed with it to be a superbee. So, it was born in August of 1967 as a coronet and then someone cloned it to be a superbee and then changed the vin number along the way. hmmm...both are crazy stories.
fc7_plumcrazy, I am 1000% sure that it is not an August of 1967 car...1000% sure. Superbees were not a thought until AFTER the Roadrunner. So, how would you explain that serial number and/or sequence number?
Moobster, everyone knows the LA plant was...unorganized. The original engine would still have the VIN stamped where the head goes etc... Why do you think that is not possible? It is 100% not possible that it is August of 1967.
Not the last 69, the last 68. It has a serial number that started the 69 model. Serial numbers "start over" with the new model year. His car got stuck in the 69 serial number sequence. Its still a 68. There is 100% no way that car was built in August of 1967. Superbee wasn't even a thought until...
Hello everyone. I know this is an old thread, but I found it as a new thread on another blog. Here is the deal...and I know this for fact because I own the first Superbee out of the LA Plant. I documented mine with Galen which he states that mine is the first one to exist out of the LA plant...
Hello all, I am currently restoring the first...yes first...Superbee out of the LA Plant. There are a bunch of date code correct parts on the car, but this one stumps me. The LH and RH lower bezels that cover the AC ducts (No AC car) do not have a top mounting hole (see pic). I have search ever...
