Yesterday I took my 71 Cuda for its last cruise of the season. I wasn't able to drive it much this year. About 30 minutes into the cruise the engine shut down suddenly. I was able to drift onto a side road and park it on the side of a street. Popped the hood and started my finger poking...
My 77 Cordoba seat belts have always been ratty looking with lots of stains on them. They were like that when I bought the car in 1983. Now that I have the interior apart and doing a color change, the seat belts should be addressed. I looked at getting them re-webbed. Very expensive...
The grill on the door speakers in my 77 Cordoba are a bit too wide and my window crank keeps hitting them. Looking for a 4" or so window crank that will fit. I read that they changed the cranks mid 70's and they don't work well with later 70's. Any ideas?
My 60/40 bench seat trim is needing some new fasteners. I took one of the broken clips out and looked up the number on the clip (6003623) and the results were for the wheel moldings. Maybe they were used as a last resort one time when the seats got redone.
Does anyone have a parts...
Just a rant...
I'm flabbergasted at the big box stores and their slow response to the change in business volumes. I'm doing some projects around the house which requires me to order stuff from Home Depot and Ikea. I can't believe how disorganized they are. Ordering from Home Depot takes...
I started to smell antifreeze inside my 77 Cordoba while driving. Reading previous posts on this subject I saw that getting the heater core rebuilt is the way to go. I've never removed one before and was prepared to just start unfastening anything that looks like is needed. Its an a/c...
I'm changing my headlight switch on my 77 Cordoba. The part number on my original one is #3747218. In looking for a new switch I notice the replacements have 2 extra spade terminals that my original doesn't. My socket has the plug-ins for these 2 extra spades.
Do I use the replacement...
Not car related but need suggestions.
I have a Simplicity 44" zero turn mower purchased in 2006. The 20hp Kohler engine has been problematic at times and has around 250 hrs on it. In 2007, under warranty the valves were hanging and needed repair. Lately the engine is vibrating excessively...
After installing engine & rebuilt 727 trans I notice there was no spring attached to the gearshift control lever, to keep the lever closed when no throttle. The lever normal resting position was not at full closed. I am using a Lokar throttle and kickdown setup. We installed a spring...
My Cordoba horn (only have 1 at the moment) sounds like its old and tired. What do you recommend for a good set (2) of horns that sound good? Lots available but don't want trial and error.
This was my first car, bought when I was 16 yrs old which is 36 years ago. I borrowed the money from my Mom (come to think of it I still owe her that lol).
Lots of work done this year. Rebuilt the 440, 10.5:1, Edelbrock e-street heads, TTi 1.78 headers, Hughes cam-1.5 rockers-lifters...
I finally got the Cordoba back together after a multitude of electrical issues. After seeing so many cut/repaired wires, wires going no-where, brittle wiring, my next upgrade has to be the complete wiring of the entire car. So many wires aren't being used because I don't have cruise...
The picture below shows part #3788273. It's a collar, window run, or whatever you want to call it. It's in the door of my 77 Cordoba and it attaches to that bar that moves the window track up and down. I web searched, called and emailed everywhere and it's no longer available. I'll keep...
I just booked a 15 day trip in July to Amsterdam where our first European road trip will start. I'll rent a nice car and plan on driving maybe 5-6 hours a day. Hope to go through Germany, Austria, Italy and back up through Switzerland, France and Belgium.
We've road tripped many times...
What's your take on this? Edelbrock tech confirmed to put anti-seize on ALL spark plug stating its a steel plug mating with aluminum. NGK says their metal is a special material that will not stick to anything and no anti seize is recommended because of potential over-torquing. Lots of...
I just received my new 3" Strange driveshaft with their 727 trans yoke, universals, complete and balanced. I noticed that the Strange trans yoke is 1.5" shorter than my Neapco one. The Neapco length is 7.560" and Strange is 6.062".
I looked up other 727 trans yokes at Summit and they were...
