Is there any clearance problems with installing a six pack under a stock 1967 Belvedere hood? I would like to use the stock six pack air cleaner. Thanks!
I think we are talking about 2 bushings in each upper control arm. I will take dvw's advice and change to the offset bushings while everything is out and easier to get to. I can see that it makes since to have more adjustability even if I decide not to use it.
nm9stheham, that was a very informative response. I've been driving this car since I was 16 in 1977. I know exactly what you are describing as far as a manual box feeling like power steering going down the road. I actually have always liked that, to me that's how those cars are supposed to feel.
dvw, I just rebuilt the K-frame on my Belvedere and it's hanging on a stand ready to be re-installed in the car. When I bought my rebuild kit from PST, I asked about the offset bushings and the tech man told me if I wasn't road racing just go with the stock ones. After reading your post do you...
I had the same problem a couple years ago. After changing the NAPA seals for the second time, I used a micrometer to measure the id of seal, then compared it to the axel. The tolerance wasn't even close, went to another parts store and haven't leaked a drop since.
Thanks for the reply's guys. Claw, the photo at the bottom of the Chrysler 300 page is exactly the distributor that I have, only different part numbers.
OK, let me ask this question another way. Forget about part numbers and tell me what car would have come from the factory with a tach drive distributor? Would a race distributor bought through Direct Connection had vac. advance?
I have a cast iron distributor I need help trying to ID. The metal tag has 2444653 IBS4011HS265. On the main housing it has Chrysler printed with a paint stamp, duel points, tach drive, vac advance, and tube sticking out the side to oil it. Thanks in advance for your help.
If I had been buying new in 1967, I would have got the magnums. But those wheel covers are really sharp because today magnums are a dime a dozen. Keep the wheel covers.
Several years ago I bought a Dana 60 that had been narrowed. It has a flat pad for a pinion snubber, but no holes drilled for mounting. I'm guessing this was a truck rear end, but didn't think trucks had a pad. Thanks for your help.
You guys are exactly right. I guess I don't know how bad my eyes are. The number is PK 3681054 4029 5400. Thank you for taking the time to decode this. My next question is, would this 1972 be a good year model core to rebuild behind a 440 Belvedere? Is there a particular rebuild kit to upgrade...
