Big Red is still up for sale--posted here in February, but now on Hemmings Auction until October 6th. Full description and many pictures on the auction site. Fairly low reserve considering the extent of the restoration and excellent condition. A great car for Mopar enthusiasts who are looking...
Thanks! Sadly, there appears to be a lot of views here and on Hemmings, but so far only one contact since Feb 1 and he wanted it, but couldn't work it out. I can't give it away--it has many thousands of dollars in it over the asking price so it's a shame. I hate to think I may have to just...
I got my interior--upholstery and other soft parts from Legendary (see photos below). They are very good, prices competitive. And they will make sure everything is exactly what you need. Actually, when I had a problem with the original vendor I ordered my convertible boot from, it turned out...
I posted this before the pandemic hit and there were many views. I also have it up on Hemmings. I really need to sell Big Red, my 1967 Plymouth Satellite convertible with its original 383 V8 upgraded to 4bbl. This was a labor of love restoration to save a rare classic. I don't drive it enough...
I think you guys are enjoying decoding the tag, but y'all know if you don't have the original build sheet, you can contact Chrysler and they'll send it to you. It will have everything on it that you're looking for and probably more. (-;
DAMN! I used to live less than an hour from there and I used to shop there when it was an outlet mall! I remember it turned into a furniture mall after that too. I don't think it had turned into the car mall before I moved to Florida four years ago. If I lived there now, I would certainly...
Like others, I would have purchased any necessary parts, most particularly those desperately needed rear quarter panels, from AMD, but they gave the same lame excuse. My restoration is done and I have no need for any further parts.
Someone who does need these parts should ask AMD what they...
I can't believe this same issue with AMD and the 67 Satellite quarter panel problem is still going on! Five years ago when my Satellite needed them, AMD was saying the same thing--they "might" start producing them. It set my restoration back a year until we just moved on and used donor parts...
I have to part with Big Red, my 1967 Plymouth Satellite convertible with its original 383 V8 upgraded to 4bbl. This was a labor of love restoration, but the car is 17 feet long and my garage is only 19 feet and I really don't drive it enough to do right by it. Someone else needs to love and...
You did the right thing--my comment was just about how desperate I was and how some of these parts are so scarce. There's no rhyme or reason as to why there are similar parts (just like these vents) that are reproduced for other years and other cars, but not these (which fit a wide variety of...
I was looking EVERYWHERE for that part over the summer and I would have given you more than $25 for it! Don't know why they don't repro them, but they just aren't out there, even as scrap parts. We had to fix the broken ones that had already been repaired at least once already.
My car spent all its life in Indiana until I bought it from a used car dealer in Sellersburg near the Kentucky border. Everyone down here was very surprised at how little rust it had coming from up there. Although it was not in great shape, the floors/trunk were not rusted out like many...
I took my 67 Satty convertible for its finish shakedown cruise!!! Took it out to I-95 between Port Orange and Edgewater and ran it up to almost 85 mph just to open it up. It was GREAT! You guys don't know how long--well many, if not most of you probably do know... It's been just over two...
FINALLY!!! Here are pictures of my 99% completed 67 Satellite convertible! Didn't put the top down because the front part needs to be redone (again!), but it's been in restoration now since February. More when it's 100%...
This is a 383 four barrel automatic (column). It has the original...
Here's an update to my earlier post from this morning... Libby left me a voicemail message indicating Amy had told me the boot would be shipped out Monday (it sounded like she meant next Monday 10/31 even though I have email saying 10/24, which came and went and follow up email saying they...
I'm finally on the homestretch of my restoration and was hoping to send my 67 Satty convertible to the Mopar show in Ocala at the Garlits museum in about 8 or 9 days. I ordered a new convertible boot from Pro/Fit out of Alabama on September 21st, which should have been plenty of time for...
Thanks Bill! I was starting to scour the convertible top sites and hadn't gotten to Hydro-e yet (got my new hydraulics from them). It was noted that some of the weatherstripping around the top front is very similar to what this should be so you may be onto something with ordering universal...
