LMAO...happened to me not long ago. I own a Superbird and said "six-pack" in a thread on another site, not really paying attention to what I typed, and knowing that Plymouth didn't call it a "six-pack" but called it a 6-bbl...same F'ing thing..lol
Anyway... I hope all can move past and keep us...
I too may have what some might say is the "bottom of the barrel"..lol 440-4, buckets, auto on the column. But for me it was what I was getting for originality and history. I'm more a purist, so a bird with a hemi stuff where once a 440 resided has ZERO interest to me. I'm the second owner...
Thanks everyone for helping out. 4 bolts on the floor plate and 3 nuts/washers for the column bracket.
Every gauge (fuel, alt and temp) works except the oil. So I'll have to look into possibly a new sending unit
Very simple and thanks again everyone
I've been looking at the same drawing as above. There must be something else holding the column up though. It feels like there's to much resistance on the column to just lower with ease.
Seats are installed, I just need to lower to seat (if needed). Previously I had removed the two bolts that attach the floor plate of the column (from inside) to the firewall as well as the three washers and nuts at the column bracket. After that I figured it would of dropped to the seats but...
Hey all,
From much research it appears I need to replace my instrument voltage limiter on my '70 Roadrunner. From looking at it, the only way to get my hands on it is by dropping the steering column.
I've already taken off 3 nuts with washer from the bottom steering column bracket and the...
Hello all,
Gonna pose this question over here as well, hopefully with some better luck.
I'm wanting to refresh the front latch tray on my Bird. It's original and has never been painted. It appears to be somewhat of a semi to satin black. I know colors can change a bit specially over 50...
idrivemopar,
Very good write up and pics but could you explain exactly how you installed the new rivets. I'd like to attempt this and have got the rivets and clinch tool already. Did you use a press on the clinch tool ? I can only imagine that whacking it with a hammer will only mar/flatten...
Hey all,
I'm looking to replace the wash pump for the reservoir on my Bird. The pump actually works but the years of service has taken a toll on its looks
I thought it would be just as easy to install a new pump with a new reservoir tank (brittle and cracked) and keep the originals...
May need to start thinking in that direction
With the help of voice command to phone for a picture I was able to get a blind shot.
It appears the same on both sides. The red arrow is pointing at a retaining ring which is on the opposite side shaft as well. I noticed a white bushing just...
Well I was able to actually lean over (a heavily covered) nose to reach and loosen the 3 nuts on the outer side. And I'm able to move the bucket up and down. But I really need to go side-to-side or left to right about a 3/16"
Hmmmmmm.......
Great info Jerry and Wayne, I really appreciate it. Something tells me that even after the nose is removed that I still have my work cut out for me with the adjustments..lol
I knew there was a reason I saved your pics Wayne from your previous thread..lol
It's never that easy..lol
With this all being said..taking the nose off, is there another adjustment plate on the outer side of the bucket ? Is this what I'm looking for (I would think so) ?
That was a question I forgot to ask....does the nose need to be off and if so is it pretty self explanatory to remove or is there hidden secrets (bolts) ..lol
