I need to replace the oil pan on my 71 Charger with 440.
I'm sure I can replace the pan by removing the center link, and raising the motor off its mounts.
Will I be able to replace the pickup tube while the engine is in the car also.
Thanks
I tried pulling 1 of the axles out just enough to remove to extended studs, and replace with a standard length stud. All the holes in the flange were oversize and out of round. The stud just slips in. It looks like they were drilled oversize with a hand drill.
I just feel better going with the...
A previous owner of my 71 Charger replaced the stock wheel studs in the 8-3/4 rearend axles, with extended length studs.
I don't know how they did it, but the studs are all loose in the flange.
I can't use the longer studs with the wheels I'm going to run, so I'm going to replace the axles.

What is the correct oil pan for my 71 R/T Charger?
Currently the 440 that is in my car has a 699 pan. From what I have learned, is for a C body. The original 440 was removed years before I bought the car.
I'm in the process of changing the transmission in my car, and since I have the car 2'...
I bought a set off Ebay awhile back. Just been waiting for the weather to warm up to put them on.
The add said they were for 67-70 B Body. For $320. total including shipping, It was worth trying on my 71.
The passenger side fit fine, no clearance problems around the torsion bar.
On the...
I have to do some work on the exhaust on my 71 Charger. I have to modify the exhaust pipe where it comes out of the left side header so doesn't hit the torsion bar crossmember when the engine is running.
While I'm at it I'm thinking of replacing the standard 3 bolt flange & gasket connector on...
I have to Helicoil 1 of the exhaust manifold tapped holes in the head.
Do I have to put some sort of sealant on the thread insert before installing into the head to prevent coolant from leaking, or will the insert alone be enough to seal?
I bought my Charger back in 04.
Before this summer it had been parked in the garage since 05. I parked it right after my son Christopher was born.
I was cleaning out the garage this spring and he actually took notice of the car. Any other time it was just something he leaned his bike against...
Anyone running these headers?
I can get a slightly used set for a very good price.
Thinking of putting them on my 71 RT Charger.
Will they fit better or worse than the Hookers I have know?
Thanks
