I think its just a matter of time before someone can support the 8-speed tranny. Ask Hotwire, maybe they are working on it.... I'm gonna use the NAG1 for my car though. The 545RFE seems so big and bulky.
What spark plugs do you guys use? Read on some forums that the NGK 4998 is good, also did a search on e-bay. Now, prices are all over the place, on Summit I pay $224 for 16 plugs (NGK 4998), on e-bay a set is $142, same plug, but I find NGK plugs sets (of 16) for as low as $35, no listed part...
I got the Jeep bellhousing, a Jeep starter and it seems to fit great with my TTI headers made for the 6.1 with a 727 and T-Bars, so thanks a bunch, SGA for suggesting that!
Other than that not much happening on the swap, just got the body back from blasting/2k epoxy. Next step is welding in...
I have the stock manifolds also, but I was told they dont fit an e-body, (have a Challenger) have not tried fitting the engine/tranny in the car yet, so I cant say for sure.
Nice project, extremely cool car! What tranny did you have? I'm looking for the bellhousing from a Jeep NAG1 since the starter is supposed to be on the driver side on those (I have a NAG1 from a Charger with the starter on the passenger side).
Really! I did not know that, that would be great, so I don't have to make new headers, or go thru the trouble of modifying the bellhousing. I looked on e-bay and found a few but only for 6-cyl, non for Hemi. I will investigate this further. Thank you!
I finally got started on my Hemi/NAG1 setup, took the tranny off, I have a set of TTI headers thats made for the NAG1/727. I suspected they will fit fine on the driver side but not on the passenger side with the starter, and that was correct. Now, just thinking out loud here, how hard would it...
Nice! I was just searching for tutorials to fill holes, since I have a lot of them, found this.
Is that a good way or do you have any better tricks? How big of a hole before you have to make a plug?

The bad repairs on mine has to be completely redone, I was thinking more of the factory welds, tranny cross member is spotwelded, the front UCA brackets seems to have very few welds, and there is many other places. Was just wondering if its worth putting in the work.
Great work! I'm in the process of cleaning the undercoating off mine now. Found a few old repairs that I have to fix, works, but not good looking repairs. Do you think it is of any benefit to weld up some of the seams that now are spotwelded?
Not much progress on the swap, waiting for parts. Got the car up in a rotisserie and found some funky metalwork I gotta fix, I'm sure I'll find more when I get the undercoating off.
Nice! Some of the inside paint will burn after welding, are you planing on painting again inside the boxes? I painted my subframe connectors inside before mounting them, then I sprayed with a 360 nozzle on a hose thru the holes after welding, cant see the results but I hope I covered the welds...
