I have to replace the mechanical fuel pump on a 360. Engine is mild - .509 hyd roller, stock compression, 750 carb, headers. The choices seem to be several brands around $20 and several brands around $120. I'm not racing it around, but I want reliability. Do I need to throw $120 at it, or...
Hey Guys.
Had my Coronet running fine for a short time, and suddenly shut off. Turned out to be the magnetic pickup trigger inside the MSD 6al. Had it repaired and 10 minutes after I had it running it suddenly shut off again. Tested the box, same issue. The white wire (points trigger)...
This is the best place I could find to mount the fuel pump. It's a little more than 1/2 inch from the exhaust pipe behind the muffler. I was thinking about a heat shield. Any opinions? Am I gonna hear the fuel up?
This may be a lame question.. But anyone care to comment on how to change the fill tube on 68-80 non charger b-body? I just bought a new gas tank and have to use the old tube. Sorry if its simple, but I just took a quick look at it and wasn't sure how to do it. I'm stuck at work overnight...
Thanks for the replies. I bought a MP copy from Mancini that was a piece of junk. The reluctor was crooked and a loose piece fell out of the box when I opened it. Maybe just bad luck, but I returned it for a Firecore piece that seems much nicer. Havent started it yet. Probly in few minutes.
Thanks for the replies. Didn't want to spend $345 since I have the MSD box already. I bought a MP copy from Mancini that was a piece of junk. The reluctor was crooked and a loose piece fell out of the box when I opened it. Maybe just bad luck, but I returned it for a Firecore piece that...
Can anyone recommend a distributer for a 440 6 pack motor on a 70 coronet r/t?? The problem I'm having is I need it to fit under the air cleaner. MSD has the PRo billet model that is too big and the ready to run model that is $380. I have the 6al msd box so I don't need the ready to run...
The one I have is in bad shape. I just don't know what brand to go with. Not looking for anything fancy, I just don't want to buy a piece of crap either.
Can someone please recommend a good distributer to fit a 440 6 pack in a 70 Coronet R/T? I have an MSD 6al box but their dist is too long. The problem is it has to fit under the air cleaner.
I think I'm with you on that. My last build I used the bearing and it was a bit of a struggle getting the input shaft in. I was worried if I fkd up the bearing and it was going to fall apart on me down the road.
Any thoughts on pilot bushing vs bearing. Or on case I'm not wording it correctly what would you guys recommend a solid pilot bearing or one with needle bearings??? Pros and cons etc.
Hello all
I'm considering putting a 4 speed overdrive from passion performance in my 70 coronet rt. it's a 500" non ported Eddie heads mild Hyd roller 6 pack 3:55 rear. My guess is that it will hurt my 1/4 mile time. Is that a given?
