    How clocks work

Fine machinery is interesting. I saw a pocket watch that had a chain drive so small it looked more like a wire until seen with a jeweler's loop. How do people build that small? Those points can be replaced... but it is spendy. I had a 56 Merc clock fixed for $150. yeouch

    Rock Island .45 1911 style

You had me going... I know somebody was threatening to offer a 1911. Not a 1911A1, but the original with no beaver tail. I was thinking it was Colt. I have never been bit by one, but many have and threw the gun down vowing to never shoot it again. I had one manufactured in 1914, must have...

    Second transmission with no luck...

So the N thing is to do with the pumps? I had the 904 in my Scout rebuilt and if I understood correctly, they said only one pump ran in Park, so they modified it so it utilized both pumps in Park as well as Neutral.

For the guys craving more HP in their cars . . .

Originally an irrigation pump motor, no kidding, and were adapted to fit cars. On an island one can drive across in a day, people didn't need much more than that. They are a three main bearing motor. To build one, you first remove 2 pounds each, from the connecting rods, and take a quarter inch...

    440 camshaft question

Sorry, the pistons are aftermarket, so I don't know how tall they are, no idea of CR. It has been rebuilt, but not by me. I used to take it out east Pheasant hunting and I will probably yet again, but that means buying fuel in areas that don't have anything above 89 octane.

    440 camshaft question

I bought a cam kit because the price was right. If it won't work for me, I can easily sell it and get my money back. Looking to build a strong daily driver, not a racer and wonder if this cam would work for me and my 66 Charger with 3.55 gears. Speedway speaks only of use with Automatics, not...

    Anyone play around with electronics?

Although Mohamed was cleared in the final police investigation, he became the subject of conspiracy theories– many of them contradictory, citing no evidence, and conflicting with established facts – which claimed that the incident was a deliberate hoax...

Anyone here know any OSHA regulations ?

...and each are 10 feet long. I have a pair made with 4 stingers connected with those twist locks. It's nice to pull up behind the stalled vehicle, shut it off, hook up the cables and with no loss to resistance, the dead car thinks you switched your battery into it. I have one on my SA200 so I...

Anyone here know any OSHA regulations ?

Never heard if OSHA had anything to say about it. How much of their fines go to the victims? More importantly, where were they when the kid needed them? Probably out collecting fines. Hell of a business.

Anyone here know any OSHA regulations ?

OSHA has one investigator for both South and North Dakota. A 19 year old I knew died in a ditch that was supposed to have shoring, according to OSHA. He left a 18 year old wife and 1 year old baby. Worker's comp. did pay the maximum death benefit: $10,000. The widow can't sue as it is against...

THIS IS THE HONDA CB 500 FOUR YOU SOLD ME

Frequently raced a friend with a KZ900 that had a header. My H2 750 would outrun him in the 1/4. Right at the end of the 1/4, he would blow by me like I had hit the brakes, and it would keep climbing.

    Giving

We had a flood that killed 238 people. The next day, the SA was on site with food and water. More of everything rolled in the following days. We all lined up, got shots, and went to work. The SA was always there. Two weeks after the flood, the Red Cross showed up and made national news. Later in...

THIS IS THE HONDA CB 500 FOUR YOU SOLD ME

I still have a '72 CL360 with 2,000 miles. I offered it as a straight trade to a guy with a 1967 Sunbeam Alpine with no title. Still waiting to hear.

THIS IS THE HONDA CB 500 FOUR YOU SOLD ME

Dreamcatcher's thread about finding a bike made me think about a bike I bought and sold. It was a 1,300 mile Honda I sold on eBay to a guy in Mexico. It ran well, but needed paint, seat, tires, etc. It was my first sale of something that expensive going out of country. Then I got an email with...

Do you ever have strange dreams about your cars?

Had a dream in two parts. One part was: cleaning my car, I found a joint. The other part was: I had a black plastic sleeve one puts around a florescent light to make it into a blacklight. Screwing around, I looked through it and it revealed Aliens flying past in a Jetson looking craft. The next...
