Thanks, sounds like a plan! I took the pan off and everything looks shiny & new which is a good sign but as you said - no warranty implied or given!! The converter is a mystery and we will see how HD the transmission is when i put the engine back in.

I have just converted the 8 3/4 on my 66 Satellite to disc brakes. The removed drums and backing plates are all good - looks like new wheel cylinders, shoes and hardware, no real wear on drums just rust from standing. I am not sure if its what you need but $60 plus shipping from Atlanta, GA...

Thanks for the clarification on the 66 vs 67 difference, mine are definitely the type that crimp on to the top of the door panels and have no other purpose than looking nice.
I have new door panels for my 66 Satellite but the chrome strips that slip over the top edge are toast. They don't seem to be reproduced so if anyone has a set available please let me know.
