Any Ideas on how to stop a 727 Transmission from leaking fluid around the fill tube?

I have a 727 transmission behind a 440 in my 1965 Plymouth Belvedere II. It is leaking around the dip stick fill tube, where the tube plugs into the transmission. Actually, leak isn't a good description of the problem. It is squirting/spewing/spraying out and onto the headers, causing quite a...

Lose Oil Pressure When Engine Decelerates

I have a 440 motor that is loosing oil pressure when I let off the gas. Everything appears to be fine under hard acceleration, however, when I get off the gas and am slowing down, my oil pressure drops to zero and the light come on. In a couple of seconds, it recovers and the oil pressure...

Correct 440 valley pan paint color

You may regret blocking off the heat riser ports to the intake. I had previously done that and it caused me no end of problems getting the engine to idle. I finally went back to a valley pan with the ports open.

Correct 440 valley pan paint color

Well, that is a trick question, we are talking a 1965 Plymouth Belvedere II, however the engine is a 440. The car originally had a 318 in it. The engine is presently painted Hemi orange and the valley pan is painted orange as well. I had to pull the intake (Edelbrock 440) off and replace the...

Correct 440 valley pan paint color

What is the correct paint color for a 440, engine and, is the valley pan supposed to be painted the same color? I have seen the pan sometimes painted silver to match an Edelbrock intake.

    Rough Idle - Edelbrock Intake

O.K. I have a pretty basic question, at least I think it is basic. I have a 440 motor with a Bullet cam, Holley carb, Edelbrock intake and MSD electronic ignition. When I first start the car, it runs really rough, you have to keep revving the motor to keep it running. Once it warms up, it...

Squeak in front end of 65 Belvedere II

Thanks for the tip on the control arm camber bolts, I'll check that out. The bushings all looked good when I was spraying them with silicone. The car's suspension was rebuilt with all new bushings about 6 years ago and has very few miles on it. I will check them again though..

Squeak in front end of 65 Belvedere II

That is what I was doing when I found the nut on the torsion bar had backed off. I was hitting everything (bushing) with silicone. I think I hosed everything down pretty well in that area.

Squeak in front end of 65 Belvedere II

I am trying to locate the source of a squeak in the front suspension of my 65 Belvedere II. I have found one problem, that being the torsion bar on the passenger side was loose. This eliminated most of the squeak, however some still remains. Any suggestions on where to look next?
