Just following up with this in case anyone else is interested or having the same problem. I finally pieced together brackets out of a New Yorker and a kickdown rod from a Cordoba and it works perfectly! Much cheaper than other alternatives I've seen for sale. Thanks again everyone for your help...
I should also clarify that I really don’t care if it’s factory correct or not for a 65. I just want an original style system that works because Im not too satisfied with the cable. Will the kickdown linkage from any year fit?
My car originally had a 318 in it before I swapped in the 440. I kept the one piece kickdown rod, but I wasn’t sure if the same rod was used for both big and small blocks. Unfortunately I don’t have the bracket that guides the rod anymore.
Hi, I'm looking to get some information on the factory style 727 kickdown linkage for a 65 coronet with a big block. I really don't like the gritty feeling Lokar trans cable setup that's currently on my car, and I want to go to a stock style linkage. I'm not sure what to look for since there's...
Yeah il try the carb first and go from there. Definitely something to think about in the future. Already have aluminum heads and those really woke the motor up! One purchase at a time lol.
That actually brings up another question. Would i see significant gains in switching from the performer intake to the performer rpm with my current setup?
Thanks everyone for all the replies. After all of your comments and a bit more research, I think I’ll take my chances with the AVS2 and see how I like it. Can’t seem to find too many negative comments about it and its relatively cheap. I’ll update this after I get it and let you all know how it...
Yeah bolt on and go is pretty much what I’m looking for. I don’t mind some tuning, but I don’t wanna dick around with it too much. The car isn’t raced at all, it’s just a cruiser so I’m looking for something simple and reliable that will still perform well when I decide to mash the skinny pedal.
Yeah, I know it properly built Qjet is hard to beat. Have one on my 69 Cutlass and it’s amazing. I do know that this one has a lot of issues though. After disassembly, it’s obvious that someone was messing around inside of this thing before. There definitely appears to be mismatched parts inside...
I realize I’m going to get a ton of different answers with this one, but im looking for some suggestions on what type of carb to go with. Engine is a 440, 10:1 compression with a voodoo 703 cam. It has TTI headers, a performer intake, 727 transmission and 355 gears. It has a reman Quadrajet on...
Clean completely rust free California truck, straight body and great paint job. Truck has a 352 with a 3 speed cruise-o-matic transmission. Rear end is a Dana 60 with a limited slip and 4.10 gears. Engine has a few oil leaks but runs great, new carburetor and pertronix points eliminator. New...
