Early 69 vs late 69 drum brakes

Thanks guys! Much appreciated. It sounds like I am good to go with the upgrade. In a addition to you awesome fellows, I just heard back from two other sources, DoctorDiff and Ehrenberg, that said you can use the 69 and later adjusting hardware on your pre-69 10" X 2-1/2" drums as an upgrade to...

Early 69 vs late 69 drum brakes

Getting ready to replace my rear 10 x 2-1/2 drums and shoes on my 67 Coronet. Does anyone know if you can replace all the hardware and shoes with the late 69 - 75 setup? Looking at the pictures of the parts they don't seem much different, but I'd rather see if anyone has had success with this...

    new steering box model?

Why do you have to replace the k-member? What are you replacing that requires this?

    new steering box model?

Not sure what you’re working on Geff, but it would be to your benefit to completely pull the motor in order to replace the k-member. I guess it’s possible to support the motor and slip it out... I wouldn’t go all scientific like that though, just plan for the easy route and pull the motor...

    new steering box model?

What’s the p/n on that pitman arm? I’ve always been curious which large sector arm it is that works for cars that originally had the small sector arm.

    66-67 coronet wheel well measurement

I got 32 1/2” on the wheel well opening and 22 5/8” from the door jamb to the opening. It seemed to be more accurate to measure from the front of the door where the rocker starts because I can hook onto the bottom of the car. There I got 72 13/16”. I don’t have moldings in the wells so there’s...

    new steering box model?

Thanks, but no offense, I meant one that might cost less than the steering gear itself. Everything they sell is considerably more expensive than anywhere else. Sorry man, I want to support anybody I can when it comes to companies like theirs, but I think their demographic is dudes with deep...

    new steering box model?

That would be sweet if you can tell me where I can find one of those 1.25 quick ratio arms? I can only find them with 1.125...

    new steering box model?

I’d prefer US made, but yes, almost everything we buy has some Chinese made component to it. If this thing works good it sounds like a pretty good deal. Somebody buy the thing and let us know if it’s any better than the original.

    new steering box model?

Not that I know of. Probably not 100% a Cardone product. They put their name on a lot of generic Chinese stuff. You'll find the same new parts sold as AC Delco a lot. This thing says it's a 1.25 and standard ratio. Not sure why they would make an all new box and retain the crappie stock ratio...
