Man this sounds like deja vu. Bought a '69 Roadrunner. Popped, stumbled, stalled. I did the same troubleshooting as you. Plugs, timing, Demon carb tweaking. (Different model carb). Was flummoxed. Turns out it was old gas. Fresh gas solved the problem. Just sayin'
Stupid question.....how old is the gas? Old gas will cause backfire, trouble holding an idle etc. Don't ask how I know. Drove me nuts until I figured it was just bad gas.
I wish you were in eastern PA. I have a '69 4sp, post in very, very good condition. Rebuilt engine has less than 500 miles. Comes with a spare 383.
Sigh. Good luck.
383 Standard bore with cam, hyd lifters and push rods casting #2468130-7 LL out of a ’69 Roadrunner. 2 sets 906 heads, one milled .015”. Have valves, springs, rocker shafts and rockers. (Needs 1 rocker arm). Head dates 3/4/69, 3/14/69, 12/9/68 and one without date. Stock intake and valve covers...
I have a partially disassembled 383 HP standard bore in stock configuration. Comes with 2 sets 906 heads, one with valves and rocker arms. Have 95% of the parts for rebuild. Spins and ran when swapped out.
Make me an offer. Eastern PA. PM if interested.
2 JBL 4" mounted side by side on a piece of 1/4" plexiglass. Radio is from '69 Plymouth with updated guts. 40 Watts. All speakers were rescued from an Infinity in the scrapyard.
I fixed it for $0. Aftermarket dash tach has no shielding. It's in a plastic case. My Big *** JBL speakers are center mounted under the dash. Tach read 2000 RPM with battery disconnected because of magnetic interference from the speakers. I cut up a soup can (must be ferrous metal i.e. attracted...
For the replica B Body Standard Dash Tachs, I needed to shield the tach from the dash speaker magnets. I did it with a can of Campbell's Chicken Noodle Soup, a Dremel and two sided tape. First, eat the soup, remove the label and clean the can. Second, take a Dremel and cut a 1" strip of metal...
I have the same issue. Installed speakers with beefy magnets to center dash of my '69 Roadrunner. Later installed factory tach and power off was about 2000 RPM. Closer to speaker reads 3000. A tach operates similar to an electro magnet. I'm going experiment ala Rube Goldberg and will get back...
Check your emercency flashers. Is your E-flasher switch ok? Try swapping the relays. I had a similar issue with my 69 RR. Turned out to be a bad relay. Weird thing was the turn signals worked ok AFTER using the E-flashers.
I have one Mopar Performance that had a broken right bottom ear, then welded. Cosmetically looks good. Could probably be fixed. I couldn't get it to stop leaking.
3 spoke steering wheel in good condition. No cracks. Rubber still soft. Was in my ’69 Road Runner, but not sure where it lived before that. Maybe a Duster? $130. Paypal
