Back in oh...1978 or so I worked with a gal who owned a blue '64 Corvette roadster 327 powerglide. She asked me if I would install a set of sidepipes she had. She sweetened the deal by allowing me to drive it over the summer. That fall when I gave it back to her she asked me if I'd be...
Get the trap pictured below and goop a blob of peanut butter on a couple of the traps. Works better than anything I've tried and you know you got them. I say "them" because there's almost always more than one. Reload the traps if necessary and keep the traps out for a few weeks after you...
The thing is that this 14+ year old battery from Walmart ain’t no $200 Optima or such. It was $29.99 back in 2006! They are double that now, but even the “I won’t buy a Walmart battery crowd” has to admit it’s pretty darned good!
Yeah I see the rust streaks running down on the rear fender. Here in the salt laden states from the bottom up is more of a problem, which looks pretty good on your Charger.
Seeing how we’re both from Michigan I’m sure hanks73340 would agree that a Charger project that appears to look as rust free as that is near impossible to find around these parts.
Although I have no personal experience with the Corvair, as I understand it the 65-69 fully independent rear suspension redesign (Replacing the 60-64 swing axle design) made it a very good handling car.
I’m gonna guess (since I have no data to back it up) that a 318/3 on the tree (which is what my Charger is) would be even more rare. If a buyer were to pony up the dough on a base Charger for the 318 option, you’d think a few bucks more for a floor shift would be a no brainer (except for my Dad...
I Never knew there were different color factory EI boxes which contained rev limiter circuitry. I also never touched the transistor on the outside of the box to see if I'd get zapped!
I’ve never had a battery explode but I treat them as though they will. I always disconnect batteries on all my occasional drivers, and never leave a trickle charger on for more than 24 hrs or so. I trickle charge them every three months or so but they don’t seem to be discharged much when I do...
I’ve had a few of these clocks apart and what usually happens is the solenoid windings get toasted.
When the vehicle battery gets run down (say from leaving the dome light on,) the battery doesn’t supply enough power to wind the clock. The points then stay closed and even though the current...
Welcome from Michigan!
Was your '77 Blazer in equal condition to the Satellite? From the looks of your pictures you got the better end of that trade! Blue is my favorite color and that blue on your Satellite is awesome!
Brought a 73 Scamp back from Atlanta to Michigan years ago (Blown /6 - paid $75.). Clamp on tow bar behind a 1976 Malibu. No issues that I recall, but I doubt I’d do it again.
I currently share ownership of a tow dolly from years ago, but have not used it in a long time.
My Dad bought his '71 Charger (in my avatar) with a 3-on-the-tree. He wouldn't let me near his new at the time Charger, so I was relegated to (and learned to drive a stick on) his '65 Chevy Biscayne, which eventually became my 1st car.
We never had an automatic transmission vehicle in our...
Obligatory interior pic. My Dad put a dash pad cover over the original cracked dash pad. Because of the dash pad cover, the plastic trim piece on the passenger side of the dash doesn't fit very well and I haven't really looked into trying to make it look/fit better.
