    383 to 440 Swap

Try to find a earlier 440. They're out there. Made a lot of um. Good luck. BTW a there are stroker kits for the 383 that make them a 438. Lighter than a 440 and will really twist up. 383s are very tough and have excellent geometry.

who pays 10k for a paint job

10k is cheap. I can't believe said that. I've been leaning towards the old single stage paint jobs like from the factry. An overdone paint job on a classic makes a car look cheaper IMO. Mine is base clear. If I had to do It again it would be as close to factory as possible. 30k on paint is...

Fastest muscle car you've been in?

Ok fellas. Was with the boys today and talking about the "fastest muscle car". You know something that scared you and left you saying holy crap man. Not a caged race car or a trailer queen, but something that your remember that was exceptional and not safe. Something evil...but in a good way. An...

Mobile Dyno on hand... here are a few combos we are gonna put to the test Oct 19th

Strong 383s are impressive. Screamers that don't quit. Always believed a 383 could make as much power as a 440 just at 1000 rpms higher. About 60 lbs lighter and IMO a stronger assembly a well prepped 383 can be a sh$t stompin bad a$$ of a motor. They just flat run. Nice work Austin. Rock the...

    Aftermarket shifter choices?

Yeah. Not precise is a good way to describe it. Not performance oriented is another. Toilet flusher ....no sugar on that one. I like it. The reverse lockout is cool though. Mopars

    Aftermarket shifter choices?

Mmmm.. pretty sure they were Hurst equipped. Didn't the cars have Hurst on them? I could be wrong. My wife tells me all the time. I don't know about the Ramchargers, but I believe the a833 came in late 64 or 65 because the t85 3 speeds couldnt handle the power of the max wedge. Most were autos...

    Aftermarket shifter choices?

Yeah...they really made their shifters work for them. Probably lots of tricks to get the throw right and tight. Amazing what they acomplished. A guys gotta know nothing was stock. I noticed a big improvement when I switched to the Hurst over the Inland. They are cool though with the reverse...

    Aftermarket shifter choices?

Agree. Inland made Inland shifters. My Dad had a early 68 GTX that came with an Inland. Look pretty cool with the reverse lockout and all, but Hurst is a better unit.
