I pulled on the wrong spot while installing the seat skin and it ripped at the seam, here’s how I fixed it:
carefully brush adhesive (I used some stuff in a bucket and a paint brush) to the affected area and a piece of muslin.
Fold the ripped part onto the old seam and break out the ol sewing...
I’ve been working on the seats for a 66 Charger. I just have 3 more frames to cover and I’m done!
The rear seat back had these metal tabs that kept breaking off, so I used 1/8 rivets as a replacement
The rear seats are side specific. The bottoms are obvious but how do you know which side goes on the tops? (I don’t have the old vinyl for reference)
One seam is straight and one is curved, which side goes on the console side?
For those of you that did your own seats, did you use cotton padding in the rear tops like original or did you use some kind of foam?
I tried using some 1” high density foam but it seems to be too thick
