When l put it away for winter there were some clean up issues from a leaky rad hose that made a mess of the undercarriage that l didn't have time for. I figured I'd get around to it in the next few months
I put my 62 Savoy up on Jack stands for winter. I noticed the doors are a bit sticky when l open them. I have sub frame connectors. Is there any problems leaving it that way until Spring ?
Absolutely, that's what l was thinking. I changed to Lucus 10/40 Hot Rod and Classic oil thinking it would help at start up. l have competition carbs with no chokes and dosn't get driven that much.
Sorry, I've been busy with stuff. I'll get a oil sample tested when l can. I took the oil filter to a garage and they cut it open for me. He didn't think it was bad and thought maybe my oil is doing a good job cleaning and flushed some old crap out
Week ago l was putting my car to bed for the winter. Changed the oil and it comes out looking like l haven't changed it in years and there is some crud on the magnetic drain plug. I spread it on a kleenex and l can see what looks like little silver beads. I took the filter to a local garage to...
My main concern is l just put a set of Headman Elite ceramic headers on last year and l think it said no power steering. The Bergman system is just a replacement for existing power steering. Electric steering sounds interesting but l know nothing about it.
I'm getting old and the "Old Armstrong Steering" is getting to the point where l don't enjoy driving my car anymore. Is there anything new on the market for power steering options and still keep sort of a muscle car look
No my paint is far from great. The reason I'm not wet sanding is l don't have the energy or the experience to do it and I'm to cheap to spend the money for someone to do it. My polisher doesn't have foam pads it came with a synthetic wool bonnet and a terrycloth bonnet. It's a 20 volt "Works"...
Ok, l got now. Thanks Guy's. l still have the doors and trunk left and I'll use the wool. Should be interesting to see if there is a noticeable difference. Oh, and the car isn't really black, it depends on the sun.
The paint is base coat, clear coat and l think the painter said 4 or 5 coats clear. My car isn't a show car and I'm 74 so there won't be any wet sanding.:) My polisher only came with two pads, a wool type bonnet and a terrycloth bonnet. It might be microfiber but l doubt it. I thought the wool...
Never had a car that l had wanted to detail before. My car was painted last summer and I'll call it a fair $5000 paint job. It had some water spots from a eruptiong rad caused by a bad rad cap. I bought a Works brand 10" random orbital 20 volt polisher. Instuctions were minimal for application...
Yes, it was a bad rad cap. I ordered a Moroso expansion tank and thinking about adding a coolant recovery tank. I found this on Amazon. What do you think ???
It has a large flexalite alumimium rad, it seems to run about 185* on the Hwy or stop and go traffic. I've never had a overheating problem. The radiator overflow isn't a recovery system just a catch can. I'm going to take it in to a local shop on Monday and get them to do some pressure tests...
