    Need pics.....

AMD shipped my floor without the rear seatbelt plates and that loop. The originals were in good shape, so I'm transferring them. I have the correct location for speedo bracket, but cant remember how its "clocked".

    Need pics.....

Hey guys. Anyone have any good shots (or measurments for that matter) of 66-70 b-body speedo cable bracket on drivers floor bottom, and interior floor harness cover locations? I have nothing to reference, and I seem to be finding everything but on my google search. Even trying non-related...

    Superformance Gaskets

Can anyone tell me the username of the owner of Superformance Gaskets? He had chimed in on a few threads regarding oil pan sealing and the use of his gaskets. I have tried every search I can think of, and I'm failing miserably trying to find it. Thanks guys.

    This look right to you?

Yes, thats exactly correct. Oil is fed TO that hole via the rocker shaft. My concern is that they are drilled to high on the arc to get sufficient volume to the pushrod tip.

    This look right to you?

So the original set of rockers and shafts on this 440 were in tough shape. Some bent pushrods, lots of scoring and some peening on valve stem end. Just a good idea to replace. MP HD rockers gone the way of the dodo, and Sealed Power ones back-ordered, and according to them, about to be phased...

    Thank you Sir!

    head bolt stretch

Well I started again from scratch. Everything checked out mechanically, so I am blaming human error(me) for the bolts stretching. Got a new set of bolts and head gaskets in FEDEX this morning from 440Source and went to town. Chased and blew out holes again. Sanded the head side of the washers...

    head bolt stretch

No illusion. Definitely narrowed in the thread area. Just trying to figure out if I'm a bone head or not.

    head bolt stretch

I found that article after all this! LOL!

    head bolt stretch

Definitely have a good feel for the torque, thats precisely why I stopped. Felt wrong. You know, like your hot cousin? Used a bottoming tap. Didn't feel like it was cutting new threads. Used a thread chaser to just to see how it felt. All Snap-on. I also took one of the longer bolts that didn't...

    head bolt stretch

Hey guys. Anyone have a 440 block on the shelf they could give me some head bolt hole depths on? Bolting on some new 440Source stealth heads today, and 3 or 4 of the short head bolts have actually stretched on me before they reached the instructed torque of 70 lb.ft. I'm using 30 weight oil, and...

Jack stand placement for floor pan replacement

I'm doing one now. Engine and trans are out, but I think I will leave that front firewall pinchweld alone. Going to trim the front lip off of the AMD full pan, leave about 1" of the old floor attached all the way across, and use panel bond to attach. The pinchweld flange looks pretty shallow...

    68 GTX 22" VS. 26" RADIATOR SUPPORT

Definitely has been hit somewhere along the line, but doesnt appear that right baffle has been replaced. Welds all factory, nice and neat. I would expect terrible looking welds from any bodyman who would weld in the wrong part, then use a can opener to make the radiator fit. I really belive this...

    68 GTX 22" VS. 26" RADIATOR SUPPORT

Definitly a factory 4 speed. All clean factory spot welds as far as I can see. The side panel itself, lower tie bar and latch support, are all a little tweaked I must say. But honestly, the gaps are all good. The nose has definitly been apart, this thing took some shots in its hard life for...

    68 GTX 22" VS. 26" RADIATOR SUPPORT

Just pulled in my buddy's Lynch Rd. 68 GTX. Cars been sitting since 1981, belonged to his dad. Started teardown today, and noticed the pass side of the rad support was all hacked up, and weld nuts were missing for radiator mounting. Top was nut and bolted, not attached at bottom, driver side is...

68 gtx A1 26 radiator on fender tag with 22 opening

Late to the party again. Just pulled in my buddy's Lynch Rd. 68 GTX. Cars been sitting since 1981, belonged to his dad. Started teardown today, and noticed the pass side of the rad support was all hacked up, and weld nuts were missing for radiator mounting. Top was nut and bolted, not attached...
