He said everything feels sluggish. Bands that are too tight could cause that. Anyway, I would start with the simple stuff first. I would adjust the front band and see if it made a difference and go from there.
If it's an original 318 car and you install a 440 in it you will need stiffer springs, front and rear anti-sway bars, a different transmission, radiator, brakes, rear end, drive shaft, exhaust (anything else?).
A 360 might be easier, but if you stroke it or really hop it up you might have to...

I use mine as a daily driver so my perspective is skewed. My competition on the roads are modern vehicles and the big rigs.
Those Prius' are pretty darn nifty. Much better than an old rattle trap Plymouth. I just can't afford a Prius or I'd get one.

I turned all the stuff off on my iphone and haven't loaded any updates. I looked and didn't see any Virus tracking app. I don't use the maps, or apple store, or location or anything like that. I think the phone thinks I'm somewhere in Texas judging by it's attempts to locate a store near me...
3.55s are for a strip/street car around here. If you do any highway driving you will find that you are the slowest car on the road with those gears, unless you want to cruise in the 3 to 4 thousand, and maybe into the 5 grand RPM range.
