I need to buy a new timing light and looking for recommendations. Should I just get a basic light or, one of these new multi-function lights that I probably won't know how to use? I do like the tach feature on the multi- function ones.

I have a 1970 Super Bee with a 4 speed in it, and it is supposed to be factory. On the steering column it has (what I assume is) the shifter linkage for an automatic trans (out in the engine bay). Is this normal? No signs that there was a shifter on the column on the inside of the car.
What exactly is this hood called, and did they make any that were functional? On the very back of the "scoops", mine is blank. It looks like there should be a screen or something there. I know this wasn't functional, as there is factory insulation under the hood.
