727 locking up when in manual low

Thanks for that chart. I'll pull the pan and remove the valve body. I was thinking thats where the problem lies but wasn't sure. I may just order a reverse manual and put it in.

727 locking up when in manual low

Screeching bash your face off the steering wheel halt. As soon as you knock it into 2nd gear it frees back up. I'm not sure if it is trying to shift into 2nd when it locks up.

727 locking up when in manual low

I do believe it does have a shift kit in it. I think they are to hard to not have a kit in it. I know the guys that built the trans but it's probably been close to 10 years ago I think. The car sat a long time there at the shop because the owner never came back and paid for the work and they...

727 locking up when in manual low

I adjusted the rear band to 72in lbs and backed it off 2.5 turns if I remember correctly. The first time it done it was right before the shaft fell out...probably with in an hour or so.

727 locking up when in manual low

Like the title says when I place the car in drive it shifts fine other than a quick 1-2 shift no matter where I set the kickdown. If I put the car in manual low/1st and take off the trans will lock up along with the entire drivetrain...not a good thing! I have noticed that if the kickdown is...

727 plug below tailshaft housing gone.

Well damn. I believe the pin has been left on the road somewhere. I'll go by the trans shop tomorrow.

727 plug below tailshaft housing gone.

Ok while driving around today I noticed some smoke and pulled in the drive to trans fluid pouring out. Crawled underneath and there was a plug or something there that is now missing. What is it?

    1966 Coronet project

Video of it running before I swapped out the radiator....which looks like it was from a truck and the crappy little plastic fan that was on it. I also got rid of the mile long plug wires.

    1966 Coronet project

Well I got the engine back together and dropped back in the car. Drove it about 50 miles so far. Ended up with a new radiator and electric fan setup. Had a few gremlins show up...fried wires from aftermarket ammeter which got bypassed. Crappy 2 piece valley pan has a leak that needs fixed.

Broadcast sheet and Owners manual for 67 Coronet Vin# WH23F77174066

That's a good idea I didn't think about putting it in the title. I'll see if I can edit it.

Broadcast sheet and Owners manual for 67 Coronet Vin# WH23F77174066

I was given these items a little while after I got my 66. Not sure if the car they belong to is still alive but I thought I'd put it here. Vin# WH23F77174066

    1966 Coronet project

I imagine there was a bit spent on it for sure. Wish I knew if it was built by the owner or if if was a top end kit or a purchased engine. i kind of doubt the owner of the car ordered a custom ground camshaft.

    1966 Coronet project

The 440 source heads have been reworked with very large valve springs and everything is all port matched. Also has a very large Crower camshaft. I called and gave them the numbers and they said it was a custom grind and they don't have the specs on it. It figures to have just under .600" lift...

I think the duster still might be there it was really bad. I don't know if my Coronet spent all it time in Indiana or not. I just dont seem to have enough rust to originally be from here. I'm roughly 40 minutes East of Indy right off I70

    1966 Coronet project

Yeah I only found one in the car. It built a nest under the spare. He poked his head out when I lifted the tire up so I snatched the mouse and nest up and he found a new home in the dumpster. Only wires I found chewed were the lights in the console. I took all the interior out except the...

    1966 Coronet project

About 2 years ago I was going past a neighbors house and noticed another old green car sitting out by his barn. There was already a Duster sitting out there and I stopped in one day and asked about it. Turns out it was a 66 Coronet that had been sitting around their transmission shop for a long...
