Hey guys, I've got an old OE steering shaft that I'd like to switch out for the one in my '69 (long story). This replacement shaft, however seems to have some "twisting play" between the two pieces. If I hold the upper section in one hand & the lower section in the other hand, and twist these...
I'm going to replace my clutch (including the pressure plate), and I'm wondering if I can re-use my old bolts, both on the PP & on the flywheel.
('69 stock 383 4bbl)
I know it would be "easy" enough to do so, but I've got everything I need, except for new bolts & I'm eager to get started. OK to...
Big block with OEM heads.... which exhaust manifold/header bolts are “wet”? (I have all bolts; no studs).
I guess RTV is recommended on those threads, but is it absolutely necessary? (I reinstalled my headers without RTV on all the bolts.)
Are *all* the bolts “wet” or just certain ones?

I'm looking for a steering shaft for my '69 Road Runner.
Needs to be for a power steering car (they were shorter than what was on manual steering cars). I don't really need the entire column, nor do I need the coupler. I just need the steering shaft, so I don't think it matters if it's a floor...
My 69 Road Runner has the three spoke “rim blow” horn.
How do I remove that, in order to remove the steering wheel?
Sorry, it’s technically not a “rim blow”.... I have the “horn ring” around the lower half of the steering wheel.
Can anyone help me out here?
I bought a new lower steering shaft bearing for my '68 Road Runner (4spd on the floor, power steering). The inside diameter of the bearing is 1", but my steering shaft is 3/4" dia. This is the way it is in my car, too (as pictured below), but I thought that the old...
I ordered a new steering box, hoping to get rid of some of the slop in my OE steering (the coupler has already been rebuilt).
1969 Road Runner 383 with Hedman headers & power steering...
Questions (my first time doing this):
1) Looks like the battery tray & power steering pump will have to...
I'm going to replace my steering box soon & it looks like that job will require removing the header to get it out. I'll need new header gaskets then, correct?
Any recommendation on materials or brands or suppliers for header gaskets?
('69 Road Runner, 383 4bbl, 4spd, power steering, no air)...
This is the front sway bar removed from my '69 Road Runner.
As far as I know, it's original.

Surprisingly, a new, 383 oil dipstick *tube* runs $40+ & up, ...with cheaper versions about $15.
If anyone has a good OEM dipstick tube lying around unused, I'd like to buy it for a reasonable price, somewhere between those quoted above? (1969 383 low-block B series engine).
More than...
Hey guys, I have a bit of an ugly gap between my steering wheel & steering column. The wheel seems secure, but this just doesn't look right to me. This is a '69 Road Runner with a stock steering wheel. Am I just missing a trim piece there or something?
Can anyone tell me what this wheel is, & if it's worth saving ....anything important?
This is 14" and it was the spare in my trunk when I recently purchased my '69 Road Runner. It had a Mickey Thompson tire on it from 1989 .... (tire unused with the sticker still on it). My car is on 15"...
Love the front "wing windows" on these old MOPARS, but mine won't stay open when driving at speed. I see in the FSM there are adjustments for up & down, fore & aft (apparently just for proper install), ....but is there any way to *tighten* the pivot hinges at the bottom center frame or the...
4-speed: I can't get my shifter to the left of the "H" pattern, so as to push it up into reverse gear. (It *was* working fine!)
All other gears are shifting fine. But I only have H rather than '-H
I looked underneath & everything looks OK ...no obvious damage or interference on the...
1969 Road Runner....
My RH inner tie rod end has apparently been nicking my torsion bar with its grease fitting on top. Since removing the grease fitting, it *barely* clears the torsion bar now! LH tie rod clears the torsion bar fine, but I see that my center link is 2" higher end-to-end on...
There's a reviewer on TireRack.com that claims that the Raised White Letters on BFG tires "turns brown after only a few weeks". Reviewer claims that BFG is having a problem with color "leaching through" on the RWL.
Has anyone heard this before?
Does anyone here have any recent experience...
My '69 RR (383) has been dripping oil, so I cleaned it all off underneath & ran the engine at idle for about 15 minutes. It took about 10 minutes to start dripping, but then continued at about 1 drop every 20-30 seconds (!)
Here's what I'm seeing... (any suggestions?) ....
So, it's...
I was considering adding a passenger side mirror to my '69 Roadrunner.
(But then, maybe it loses that "nostalgic look" without one.)
How are those attached? Do I heed to take off the inside door panel to thread a nut on a bolt?
(I'm remembering that my old Mustang simply had anchors set into...
The rod to my clutch pedal rattles loudly on the knob that it's attached to. I was thinking maybe I needed to put some washers on it (metal, plastic, or rubber?) to snug it up.
But here's how I reattached the retaining collar, and it's snug now. See the photo... Is this correct or...
Here's the base of my oil dipstick tube where it enters the block just above the oil pan. Is this OK?, ....or should the flange on the tube be all the way down against the cast block?
I bought the car this way. Should I beat it down?
